I know how to simplify square roots, but I don't know what rationalizing the denominator means. I have two problems that I'm stuck on:

1) 3√7/12
I'm supposed to simplify this, but I don't know how 7/12 can be simplified any more than it is.

2) √128 + √50
Neither of these square roots can be simplified, but if you add them, you get √178, which I don't think can be simplified either. So is there anything you can do to simplify this problem?

simplify using only positive exponents. do not rationalize the denominator.

1. square root (4x-16) / fourth root {(x-4)^3}

2. [ (1 / x^-2) + (4 / x^-1 y^-1) + (1 / y^-2) ]^(-1/2)

I've been wondering about this for some time now.
I asked an English guy the same question and he said he thinks it's because the Australian economy isn't as strong as the British one, so their currency is dollar, not GB pound (because dollar is also weaker than GB pound). But still, why, when Australia is a member of the Commonwealth, an ex British colony?

Just bought 6 pair of Old Navy jeans online. Didn't know they ran so big. Well, I plan to have them altered to fit. They are way too long so they will have to be seamed. But what alterations can be done about them being too big in the legs? They fit in the waist.

Today, my 4 year old runs away from my wife outside our mall, heading toward the street. We tell him time and time again, but unless my wife collars him, he pushes his luck.

He didn't come close to getting hurt...THANK GOD, but my wife was infuriated with him. When she returned home, she marched him to our computer and forced him to watch this very graphic youtube.com video of a guy carrying a pizza getting hit by a car.

I believe, it scared him too much, as he started to cry ,hoping for his mothers console. (This is when I returned home myself). She then had a hard love talk with him, and he went on to play with his toys.

I saw the video in question and grew mad at my wife, I think the video was much too graphic for his young mind to handle.

So please, if you have the nerve, please watch this video (VERY GRAPHIC) and tell me if my wife did the wrong thing.

I strongly believe she did.

God admired (HIS) it's important that God is male, creations but they werent writers or church builders, even though they had millions of years to evolve into. God got frustrated, (and don't say HE does'nt cuz there's all kinds of text that says he does) and sends a space chunk to wipe out his creations well at least the big ones. This HE hoped would give the mammels a chance to evolve into writing church builders, HE was frustated again when it took 65 meellion yrs. But we can only hope that HE'S happy now, because if HE'S not ,we all know what HE'S cappable of. Now I want you all to notice answers of the christians who believe in evolution and the ones who don't. And don't let the crickets get my Question, be strong christian's and straighten me out.
