The last 2 times I've baked cookies, they'e come out flat, as if the dough melted down around the chocolate chips. I don't get it!

I have baked chocolate chip cookies for years. I always use one stick of crisco instead of 2 cups of butter (the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookie recipe). My cookies have only come flat out of the oven once before when I accidentally used 1.25 cups of flour instead of 2.25.

The only other variable I haven't considerred is that I'm using a new faberware cookie sheet. I can't believe that would effect how much the cookies do or do not rise.

Does anyone have any clue why this would be happening?

political issues are always the most highly discussed issues. Gay marriage, abortion, stem cell research, prayer in schools, the pledge of allegiance, evolution-creationism, gun control, the 10 commandments, all of which are absolutely, positively, completely, entirely, and totally unimportant. On a very, very, very, very, very rare occasion, you might hear a politician bring up an issue concerning the economy, but if you blink, you will miss it. Who cares about the billions of dollars of debt when we can whine and cry and moan back and forth at each other over issues that don't matter???

ok so i am 37 weeks pregnant and we have had a name picked out since we found out it was a boy at 18 weeks. We were going to name him Christopher Damon after our dads. we both liked the name and agreed on it. Well now he has decided he isnt to fond of it anymore and has changed his mind, im kinda upset but at the same time i am ok with it and dont mind picking another out. After all im not going to force him to like a name lol. Only thing is im 37 weeks along and im flipping out becuase we cant agree on anything and i dont want to be like my cousin who sat in the hospital for a week with an unnamed baby....so any suggestions would be nice :)

Homosexuality is not a choice! Now some Christians do accept that people are born gay but still say that homosexuality is a sin. For those who still think homosexuality is a choice, please read this link and I’m sure you’ll have a second thought! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aqw6ASx5B2It2nmFYXkY_l8jzKIX?qid=20070829022207AANlbDF
These Christians who accept that gays are born that way still compare homosexuality to murdering, stealing, raping and etc. They compare murdering to homosexuality in the sense that you can have the urge to murder but you can choose whether or not to act upon your urge. First of all, to compare homosexuality to those things is completely absurd and ignorant! Murdering, stealing and raping all cause damage to another person. But homosexual activity does not hurt someone else! See the difference?

I like all of them, even though in real life Miley seems stuck up and mean. I don't know her, but she just gets on my nerves. She's really pretty though. But did you see her at the TCA?????? Her dress was disgusting! Her boobs were falling out. I heard her mom picked it out for her, which I can't understand. Oh well. Anyways, my favorites are her, Lilly, Oliver, Jackson, Rico.. okay all of them =)

Sometimes I feel like I can't even move to get up and do anything. Occasionally I'll get a "burst" of motivation, but it soon fizzles and I'm back to being lazy. Help! (And please don't suggest therapy--been there, paid for that.) ;^)

Sorry, I know this is kind of a selfish prayer :(

Not to make this question all about me...but it is. Just a word to all of you annoying anti-smoking people who like spitting out those facts that we have all heard so many times, please don't post anything. I know that it can be very bad for you. Anyways, I smoke American Spirit regular, but I am not the kind of smoker that smokes a pack a day. I don't "need" cigarettes, but it is nice to have them. A pack of cigarettes can last me maybe 2 and half weeks. I have also been rolling cigarettes out of pipe tobacco, and smoke in the same manner. I have been thinking about getting a Denicotea filter system when I get my Perique blend. My main question was about perspective. Compared to other smokers, If I continue on this regimen or let it have a subtle increase, where do you think my health will be heading.

Ok, looking into even more, and I think I've found that the best options for dog food are, in order:
-------------------
Blue Buffalo
Science Diet (tied with:)
Canidae
All of the Natura Products go right here, but I havent looked too much into what is healthiest, though Innova and Evo peeked my interest most. I could use some input on that.
Flint River.
----------------------
So, anyone here agree/disagree with me? Think they should be rearranged, or another kind should be added? All extra info would be helpful.

The Cox Report cited the CP Group's payment to Trie--the purpose of which the FBI did not determine--and noted that the CP Group was involved in a telecommunications consortium controlled by companies linked to the Chinese government. That is, the report suggested that Trie and the CP Group provided a conduit for Chinese money supposedly flowing into the Clinton Administration.

But as the CP Group chased after deals and influence around the world during the nineties--joining with NYNEX, Gerber, the Ford Motor Company and Kentucky Fried Chicken in assorted projects--it did not seek out only Democrats as friends; it also collaborated with members of George W. Bush's immediate family.

In January 1994--more than two years before Chearavanont and the CP Group officials came to the White House for coffee--former President Bush made a six-day trip to China and then visited Thailand as the guest of Dhanin Chearavanont's CP Group. On January 19, the Bangkok Post ran a photograph of Bush arriving at Don Muang airport and noted in the caption that he was greeted by Chearavanont. Also, that same day, the CP Group and its telecommunications subsidiary, TelecomAsia, published a full-page ad in the Bangkok newspapers welcoming Bush. On January 20 Bush attended a champagne breakfast ceremony at the Oriental Hotel to celebrate the opening of the CP Group's new paint factory, in the wake of a licensing agreement that gave Advance Paint and Chemical, a Thai business partner of the CP Group, the right to sell Dutch Boy paints in China. That night, during a gala reception for Bush at the Oriental, also hosted by the CP Group, Bush spoke about China. He defended his decision to reject post-Tiananmen Square calls for yanking China's most-favored-nation trade status, saying, "To influence China, you do not isolate China." After Bush's three-day stay in Bangkok, Chearavanont personally escorted Bush back to the airport; a picture of this scene appeared in a Bangkok newspaper the following day.

My brother just adopted a 3 month old puppy. The shelter wasn't sure what he is mixed with but our guess is a golden retriever and chow. He likes to bite and chew like a normal puppy but he will also bite aggressively. There is nothing that really sets him off, he just always wants to bite, and it hurts! He has drawn blood on multiple occasions.
The vet told my brother to grab him by the nape and put his head to the ground while telling him no. That didnt work. He just got worked up and wanted to play but more aggressively than before!
He just got a choke collar as well and that has yet to help. Today he went at my brother for no reason and bit his hand.
Is there anything else he can do to help stop this puppy from biting? He is considering taking him back to the shelter but I know they will euthanize him and I don't want that to happen.
Help!
