you cannot solve for r if you dont have the value for C..
let's just say the value of your C= 50 inches
50 = 2 * 3.14 * r
you have to transpose 2*3.14 to the left side so that only the positive value of r is left at the right side
50 / 6.28 = r
therefore, r = 7.962 inches
im assuming we are talking here of circumference, radius and 3.14 is pi...

first set up the equation C=2*3.14*R
Step one multiply the 2 * 3.14: C=6.28*R
to solve for R we must eliminate all other factors on that side of the equation. Remember that when we divide something by itself we are left with 1. Also keep in mind that if we do something to one side of the equation we must do it to the other.
Step 2 divide each side by 6.28 C/6.28=6.28/6.28*R
Step 3 the 6.28 divided by itself becomes 1 C/6.28=1*R
Step 4 one times anything is itself C/6.28=R

C=2x3.14xr
Divide both sides by 2.
C/2=3.14xr
Divide both sides by 3.14
C/2/3.14=r
Simplify
r = C/(2 pi)
That is, the radius of a circle is equal to the circumference of that circle divided by 2 pi.

C = 6.28r
multiplying out and getting rid of the multiplication signs.
now divide both sides by 6.28
r =C/6.28
I don't mean to be mean, but if you can't do this problem, you better be doing some review and/or getting with your teacher pretty soon.

okay:
you just have to use algebra to separate the r from everything else:
C=2x3.14xr
if that is the case, it's just to cross multiply with C=
C
------------= r
2(3.14)
hope this helps!
