I've been depressed for a quite a while and finally I've told my mother about it and with the fact that I plan to seek for professional help. Unfortunately, in my society, seeking psychiatric help equates to being crazy so she took my confession the wrong way. She’s barely talking to me nowadays and was really cold whenever I am around.

The question is, is the disease permanent? Will I ever recover without seeking professional help/taking meds?

I'm too nice to people. I never argued with anyone because I don't know how to defend myself. Whenever someone says mean things to me, I just ignore it.

That's why I don't have no more friends. Whenever they say mean things, I just ignore them and never talk to them again.

Is there a counselor that would help me defend myself? Or is there a book that have a guide on how to defend youself with words?

I was a 18 yr old kid who just signed up for the Army and It was my senior yr in High School class of 2002, and I was sitting in my computer business class when The teachers turned on Channel One ( News service) We had TV's in my rich small town school. At first I thought the first plane hit the buildings on accident, when the second one hit I thought it was the same plane, I had know idea it was terrorism, people jumping out of buildings was so scary and people running through the streets, nobody knew what was going on, Walking through the cafeteria, one of the teachers put a TV in the cafeteria for everyone to see. TV's were all over the hallways. What were you doing on that sad day?

I want to try an antidepressent, but I don't want a kind that has side effects...such as gaining weight. I talked to this one girl and she said she gained 70lbs from a kind she was on! How is it that a drug MAKES you gain weight? Does it increase your appetite or just make your body hold on to fat more? I know with hormones, however, it's a different thing all together. How is it though, that a side effect of a drug can actually increase your weight? Is it possible to control this effect? Thanks for any input.

in the 100 summer heat. We would put ice in a bowl in front of a room fan and our feet in water, a wet washrag on our neck, drink lots of iced tea and eat watermelon. Sunbath with the sprinkler running or go to the movies. How about you?

Hi I ran Spring Track last year in middle school, my best time was 5:49. I started training for Cross Country at my High School. We run about 6-10 miles a day, after about 2 months of training I decided to time myself on the mile just to see what I could run, which is now 4:57. I want to work on my foot speed for Spring Track this year at high school. My goal is to run 4:40 in the 1600 meter race. Is this possible for me to do? Please list some speed training regiments for me. Thanks.

This guy was arrested all the way back in June for hitting on a cop at a Minneapolis airport restroom (you know the story). He pleaded guilty, without even hiring a lawyer, ostensibly to make the whole thing go away quickly and quietly. He almost got away with it, but somebody blew his cover (no pun intended) a few days ago Which media source was it that first picked up the story?
