We could ask the descendents of Kennewich Man (a humanoid skeleton found here that is older than the American Indians)...but his entire culture is now extinct, oddly enough, since the American Indians arrived.

Yes, I agree! I think all of you should go back to where you or your ancestors came from. This land truly belongs to all the real creatures of nature, and by that I mean all animals( category in which I'm proudly included) . Everything was going great until the man came and DESTROYED our habitats. Yet even NOW you still have the nerves to use us as testing materials... You consider yourself to be the most intelligent mammal...the best in everything. And you think that gives you the right to do as you please. The only thing that makes me stand all of this is knowing that in the end, the man will pay for all the things he has done without even thinking about any other creatures but themselves!
Okay, Chipmunk rant over.
Seriously now, you have to look at this question from both sides. Native Americans did indeed settle here after they migrated. They lived in the U.S. for quite a time and were doing fine without any the help of the Europeans. However, people can't blame others for what their ancestors did. In this case, I think we should worry about the present, not the past.

It's all moot. The fact is, this is an organized country now. It has laws. It's a country recognized by all the other countries. It's borders are recognized by other countries as well. The only people contesting this are people spreading propoganda NOT FACTS in order to erode our sense of boundaries. Boundaries apply to things like personal space, not infringing on other people's rights, obeying the law, and who belongs where.
I was born in this country and I'm a citizen. I'm supposed to have civil rights. People trying to come here and coming illegally shouldn't have civil rights. They should only have human rights. But they want to erode the boundaries and confuse the meaning of the difference between the two. Don't fall for it. They are just trying to justify the laws they are breaking.

Because he did. Native Americans and bears are not the same species, so unless you're into bestiality I dont see why you would compare them. English settlers first illegaly immigrated to the Netherlands to escape poverty and persecution from England before eventually making it big in the "new" continent. Here, a Puritan Christian belief arose in that the white settlers had come to pursue the dream of owning the land that divided the Atlantic and the Pacific sea. The majority chose not to mix with the people already here because they believed that they were their inferiors, and had no right to the lands that Native Americans shared just like the air we all breathe. The white settlers felt that their superiority allowed them to steal this land and use it for private use.
So there, the white man didnt have any green cards, they came looking for the easy way to get wealthy, and they came expecting to be respected... which are some of the arguments you might make about me and my peers. Which is funny cuz Im sure that the Irish, the Italians, the Greeks, the Chinese, Japanese, and Viet were treated just the same...
You're just hating cuz all your girl friends tanned so that they can look like the hot young immigrant from Honduras that cleans their house and keeps their father's eyes away from their mother.
I kid...

I don't believe EVERYONE is saying this, I could say "Why does EVERYONE say American Indians are not native they came over the Bering Strait". You have no proof, just theories, theories designed help you feel like an Angelo overlord and that is all.
Call or email the nearest American Indian Tribal Headquarters and ask THEM!

And someone who goes by triplemojoe can burn in...
P.S. Hey Pasty, I suggest you get back to Europe, but only your part of it..then get the hell out of it because someone was likely there before you, even if it was only animals.
Not sure where you intend to go or have as part of your personal identity, but why should we care about that, as long as we can try to determine that you don't belong there, or anywhere, originally?

The native tribes were here for between 6,000 and 12,000 years -- depending on the region and the fossil findings.
So, anyone claiming to be here for under 2% of that time has a much weaker claim.

Ownership was made when someone said, 'This is mine.' It's the last person who keeps it that is the owner.

We were all put here by God and invisible lines that were drawn in the sand were drawn by man???
Not to say that they shouldn't be respected, but, the earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth..
(To poorly paraphrase a great Native American leader)
