Many websites are full of propaganda that either want to make Islam the worst religion in the world or exactly the opposite...

Does anyone know where unbiased translations of the Qur'an may exist?

http://www.religioustolerance.org/islam.htm is good for the basic facts but I am interested in reading the texts and Hadiths for myself.

A new Gallup Poll finds Congress' approval rating the lowest it has been since Gallup first tracked public opinion of Congress with this measure in 1974. Just 18% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing, while 76% disapprove, according to the August 13-16, 2007, Gallup Poll.

That 18% job approval rating matches the low recorded in March 1992, when a check-bouncing scandal was one of several scandals besetting Congress, leading many states to pass term limits measures for U.S. representatives (which the Supreme Court later declared unconstitutional). Congress had a similarly low 19% approval rating during the energy crisis in the summer of 1979.

He loves all of you and I truly believe that everyone who writes hateful responses or questions, are not bad people, just misguided about their actions. PLEASE people, get saved and accept Jesus before you pass away and cannot do it, or before He returns. He is giving tons of warnings out of love, to make a place for you. Don't blow it by believing the rest of the worldly lies that He does not exist. HE DOES! you were made in His image so you should know in your hearts. you need no other proof,that is a lie told to you. I mean all of this out of love, so please do not get angry at me. This is not harassment nor arrogance. This is caring enough to take risks and obeying him as well. Please save your lives, PLEASE. it is not funny, but most serious. Looking for an optical element that performs the same function as polarized film, except either direction of polarization is electrically controlled, or its polarization can be turned on and off (then I could just use two of them to get the same effect). I thought I heard of something like that - similar to an lcd in concept.

We are just passing the arctic tipping point (where the arctic ocean melts down). Economic growth of 8% per annum is a doubling every decade. If Indian, Chinese and other fast growing economies double global industrial CO2 emissions in the next decade ALL the other tipping points will be passed before mid century. Is the only way forward is to plan what to do during and after the global catastrophe?

My best mate (40yrs old) is going through hell, he has been living with a younger girl (25yrs old) and they have a baby girl she also has a 5 yrs old son who calls my mate dad, for some time Clair (his girlfriend) has been acting strange she has been up and down and can change like the wind, but a few days ago she said she was getting thoughts about abusing the kids and she said she had abused the baby, social services are now involved and she has beed taked to a mental health home, we are not sure what is going to happen everyone is telling my mate to leave her etc she was raped as a kid and I know what it is like to be depressed and in trouble but what she has done is unforgiveable I think he should leave her how could he ever trust her again, no one will accept her do you think I am right ?

Ok so I'm the quiet type and I always show the happy quiet attitude when I'm among others. I only show my real self to my family and my closest friends (Which arn't that many). I always think to my self how some people can talk so socialy as if it comes to them so naturally.

The thing is though I'm hoping to do a job that involves talking to people a lot and I'm currently doing my studies accordingly.

I am so depressed when I think about whether I can get to my dream job by being the quiet person I am, when the job involves talking alot.

SO where should I start changing, how and what should I change?

PS No therapy or medication pls because I've tried them and no it didnt work so suggest some thing else

BOSTON --More than half of black and Hispanic applicants for teaching jobs in Massachusetts have failed a crucial state licensing test.

Since the start of the test nearly a decade ago, 52 percent of Hispanics and 54 percent of blacks failed the writing portion of the test compared to a 23 percent failure rate among white applicants.

Blacks and Hispanics also fall behind white applicants in other test subjects like English, history and math

"The schools I attended, especially the ones in...were and still are very poor schools. At my high school in .., for instance, a very small minority of students attend four-year universities after graduation. The school’s California STAR Test results are among the lowest in the state, with most students scoring below average in the subjects tested. The school’s drop-out rate is also very high. In my class for example, around sixty students out of an original class of around 360 dropped out during their senior year of high school. Simply put, a majority of the students did not care about doing well in school. There was also plenty of gang activity at my school. The quality of the teachers at the school was also below-average. My Honors Chemistry teacher, for instance, fell asleep..."

Greeks believed earthquakes were caused by Titans trying to break out of the underground prison created for them by Zeus. People don't believe that.

Polynesians believed rainwater was the tears of the god of the heavens, heartbroken at being separated from his beloved, the goddess of the earth. People don't believe that.
