I've unplugged the electricity leading to the stove and that made the lighters stop. Will I have to replace the whole stove or is this fixable? If it is fixable how much am I looking at as far as cost?

I remember years back lead being recognised as a danger to children and lead paint on toys was banned, lead soldiers that boys used to play with gave way to plastic, lead water pipes were replaced and some of us campaigned sucessfully (and against fierce opposition from many motorists I might add) to have lead removed from petrol.
Now it seems we are importing lead-coated toys from China -

In America it wasn't only toys but even imported toothpaste was found to be contaminated and over here children's clothing is being coated with teflon and other chemicals that can be absorbed through the skin and do harm -

Shouldn't governments *and* parents make sure that the toys, the clothes as well as the food and toothpaste etc. they buy for their children are SAFE above all else and never mind that they are cheap or "non-iron" etc.

The first noble truth of Buddha says "all life is suffering"
From all emotions comes suffering. I can see that. At the same time Buddha teaches us to live in the present moment. So wouldn't that mean that we can desire and feel as much as we want- regardless of how it may hurt us later on?
What are your thoughts on suffering?

I mean, people come...listen to music and have a great time..but leave tons (literally) of trash, they have to use a means of transportation to get there to begin with...idk it just seems a little backwards to me..

I personally believe global warming is becoming a problem...but doesn't anyone else think these festivites are a little much and uneccesary?

ok so this summer i really got into smoking...i stop around the time school starts....
so hears the deal...i wanted to try a little experiment
i was going to see if it really is addicting...so my hypotheses was that it doesn't have a mental addiction but it has a physical addiction. so for 7 nights i was going to smoke. and i did by the 4th night i couldn't sleep i need it to fall asleep. the 6th night was the worst it felt like i HAD to smoke to sleep...so then i did 7 days of waking up at 8 am to smoke...by the 4th morning i didn't even need my alarm to wake me up...i would just wake up at 8 no later no earlier....so came to conclusion that it doesn't form a mental addiction but it dose cause a physical one ur body gets used to he drug and if feels like it needs it to go on....i harldy smoke now...doing this experiment showed me that drugs are addicting even the "safe ones"

Me and my girlfriend have been together for a lil over three years now and have always used a condom. She began her most recent menstral cycle on a sunday, and by saturday morning her period was still ongoing. That saturday, we had unprotected sex for the first time and she is worried that she is pregnant. By saturday night, the bleeding had stopped. She first believed you couldnt get pregnant during you period until reading up on it. I never came inside of her but she is worried that she is pregnant. Her days between starts of her period this last time was 22 days. Anyone have any reason for her to hope shes not pregnant? Did it help that earlier that day i masterbated??? This just happened today. Also to add, in the state i live in she is not of age and i am by 4 months. Knowing her parents they would try and send me to jail, any suggestions?

I am a 65 yr old lady. It was very hot here today and when I removed my bra, the area where to band goes, under the breast is very sore and red. Its a heat rash. What is the best way to treat it? I have put baby powder on it, like for diaper rashes, does not seem to work and also put on some antifungal cream. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

OK well we are separated and have been for almost five months now. We have two kids and one on the way. She is 800 miles away. We talk almost everyday. but when we do she just confuses me more and more into an almost insane state of mind. She says its over and then she will call back and say I'm sorry you know its not. She say im just so confused. i know she isnt cheating because she is pregnant with my baby. recently she sent a discreet pic of herself. its like she has one foot still with me and one foot out the door.
