I mean, people come...listen to music and have a great time..but leave tons (literally) of trash, they have to use a means of transportation to get there to begin with...idk it just seems a little backwards to me..

I personally believe global warming is becoming a problem...but doesn't anyone else think these festivites are a little much and uneccesary?

Yes, the word has been out a long time.

There is probably not a person on this planet who is not in a coma who has not received the word about Global Warming.

When you think about all of the fuel that is wasted, all of the greenhouse gases that are released in the process of putting on these festivals, the transportation for the guests to get there, the private fuel guzzling jets for the entertainers and Al Gore they do seem like a huge waste of precious carbon based fossil fuel and money, not to mention all of the greehouse gases that are released.

i was at festivals anyway, or at an amusement park, whatever so you can use the time to talk about whatever you like. I saw people at regular festivals trying to promote. festivals are a messy business but the whole idea of trying to discredit them is political posturing. Someone had to think pretty creatively to devise this argument, it's certainly not apparent on the surface, any type of rally or action will consume resources. If you wish to suggest they are bad then maybe we need to consider our alternatives. It seems though that the agenda is to justify not keeping green (as much as i don't care) by exposing the hypocrits. Much the way a child will say moms a hypocrit cause she smokes so i can smoke. This is dumb though, just cause mom smokes does not mean it's healthy or we should disregard her advice.

Saying all that, even at regular festivals not held for eco purposes, they have been finding ways to lessen the environmental impact, much more than all the people complaining have done to get better.

a hippie vacation is a bunch of people camping, it may sound like a lot of energy and such when they spell it out but maybe we should hold that up to say a trip to las vegas and see how it compares.

Global Warming is false.
If you look at records from 100 yrs ago, there is not much change. I can't believe people fall for it. Thats like believing there is such a thing as little green men.

Don't believe it. Don't take my word for it. Just look at the track record of past earth temps. Don't be fooled like Al Gore and all those outer stupied people.

Yes, it looks more like a religion than science. Who was rock concerts to celebrate the Sun being 93 Million miles from the Earth?

ya least them damn hippies back int the 60-70's used to try.
Go out in the woods and start a commune, grow a bug infested organic garden, Wear Good Will hand me down clothes. Saved soap and water by not bathing. True environmentalists back then

yep those are pretty silly but what's even sillier are certain hollywood celebrities condemning the SUVs and Hummers and supposedly contributing their share by driving hybrid cars yet this same ones burn more fuel in a single jet flight than the SUV that your next door neighbor does in a whole month.

Yes the word is out.

It is just that people are not buying what the Global Warming freaks are selling.

yes its very lame. its just a way for self absorbed celebrities to feel that they are doing something for the environment and to put even more attention on themselves. doubt that they practice what they preach
