Go buy this stuff called Abreva. It is about $11-14 bucks but does it heal quicker than anything else I know of.

a cold sore is a form of herpes and best treated with 'Zovirax' preferably when the first tingle appears to prevent the blister phase.

As simple as it sounds, I use carmax or blistex as soon as symptoms starts. Even if I'm unsure, I use it anyway. If you catch it before it surfaces they will almost always go away immediatly.
