With all the news about the credit cirsis, a question comes to my mind. Let's say there's this hypothetical situation: I have a loan with company ABC. It goes bankrupt. I understand that my loan would usually be sold to XYZ and that I'll just start making payments to XYZ. Here's the interesting twist. Let's say that I'm really bad at making on-time payments, and my house value has dropped since I bought it. Why would XYZ want to buy my loan from ABC? With many of the mortgage companies deciding they don't want low value loans, they shouldn't want to buy my loan. I can't imagine a court ordering another bank to take over the loan - so what happens then?

If the loan gets sold as a bundle to another bank, then why would XYZ want to buy the bundle that has a lot of risky loans?

Thanks in advance!

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A South African man shot three weeks ago was told to "walk the pain off" and is still trying to persuade hospitals to remove the bullet lodged in his side, a newspaper said Thursday.

Three Johannesburg hospitals refused to remove the bullet for security guard Phillip Mashiane, 38, who was shot during a burglary at the property of South Africa's ambassador to the United Nations, the Star newspaper said.

The bullet passed through his elbow and entered his body just above the hip, missed his vital organs and stopped beneath the skin on the opposite side of his body, the Star said.

Mashiane told the paper he was turned away by one private hospital because he could not afford the bills while a public hospital took X-rays and kept him in for observation before patching him up and sending him home with painkillers.
When he returned a doctor told him to "walk the pain off."

Doctors at a third hospital said it could not remove the bullet because Mashiane had started treatment elsewhere.

"I want my life back. I need to work and all I ask is for them to help me," Mashiane told The Star.

South Africa is battling some of the highest rates of violent crime in the world, and its underfunded public hospitals struggle to treat all those who need healthcare.

I really do not. Sooner or later you have feelings for the gal or viceversa. When my girlfriend used to tell me she had a friend (man), I told her sooner or later he would try to go farther, and it did (always)

People are always trying to tell me what I CAN'T do, & then they tell me my dreams, goals, & wishes are irrational & unrealistic. When I do think positive, people think I'm crazy & call that abnormal. & then when I think negative or complain, people say I alienate society away from me. I don't even know how I should feel.

If we believe in the evolution of man, we can have no choice but to be what we have evolved to be. So, on what basis can we complain of our own miserable lot, or blame it on any of the rest of us?

Evolutionist what says you?

I'm from Ireland and I find American news too commercial and not taking journalism seriously.

Print news is similar, but TV news is very flashy with a lot of graphics, and the amount of commercial breaks is annoying.

Also, interviews are short and really only have sound bites with the reporter then quoting parts of the interview, which could lead to misinterpretation of taking things out of context, which both conservatives and liberals seem to do alot.

So, what do you think of American news?

People that are irritated by this, does this mean they don't like laughing?

Several parents using my local YMCA for their kids' after school care are having problems getting the school board and department of transportation to make an exception on our behalf because we only need the school bus to take the kids from this one school to the Y after school because the Y is only open after school. The transportation department will only approve a bus route if it is for both before and after school. How can I word this effectively? We are only talking about one bus picking up several kids making one pick up and one drop offin the afternoon.

Our new school year is about to start, and I'm hoping to get this right this year!
How are parents supposed to address kid's teacher in elementary school? In Kindergarten, it was Mr/Ms/Mrs all round, parents & teachers addressed each other formally.

In the last year, the teacher introduced herself to parents as Ms. Smith at back-to-school night. I always addressed her as Ms. Smith, but she used parents first names in emails/in person!
It is not a big deal, I guess. But, I'd like the addressing to be "equal",so I don't feel like a kid in class when helping out in the new room this year, she calling me 'Carol', and me addressing her 'Mrs. Wong'.... In fact, I just dont' want to call my kid's teachers by their first name...

Any social cues to look out for, other than directly asking how do I address you?
If the teacher was on the older side & grandma-ish then I could understand it perhaps, but not when they are about my age!

Think about it. When a person trust their voice to God, the Holy Spirit speaks from our heart praises or intercession for others.

Don't you see that this is more than a sing to unbelievers in the early Church?

What other purposes does this gift serve today?
