Because we evolved brains.
We are who we are, no matter what the process was that caused us to be who we are.
As humans, we have a brain that can think and make decisions. That brain does have an initial set of instructions, called our instincts, that control how we think. However, that is augmented by our experience as we live life. Part of how our thoughts change through life is in our value judgements. We make judgements each day about what we value and don't value, or what we consider good or bad.
Because of this, we fully have the capability to complain, be miserable, or blame things on people. We also have the ability to complement, enjoy things, and take responsiblity. It's all about what it is to be human.
Or to put it another way:
The choice of roads my car drives on has little to do with which plant it was made in.

I disagree. Yes, I believe in evolution but we have now evolved to the point where we have brains that are capable of advanced thought. Using those brains we are able to manipulate our conditions. We don't have complete control over the environment but we can do a lot.
As far as "blaming" - that is something for children to do - not adults.

The complaints that I have have nothing to do with our evolution as man. The way that a President screws up the economy is not evolution and is not acceptable. It means that stupid people voted him into office and let him f*ck with the country and its pocketbook. But if it were something like my legs were longer, yes it would be due to evolution and I woud just accept it.

who says our evolution is controlled? who says one person is deciding right now what we should be? or think? or do? our choices have effected our evolution, just as much as environment and dangers. we make choices everyday. we choose who we want to be. we can only blame our misfortune on our choices and the choices other people have made. we can choose to be sheep (not literally) and follow the crowd, or we can choose to stand up for our selves and what we think is right. we can choose to be different.
"It is our choices [...] that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." -Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

What say I? I don't have a miserable lot. I have my good days and my bad, and I certainly have my share of flaws, but my opinion is that you have to make the best of things. Time spent bemoaning your lot in life is a lot of time wasted. I don't know if you can tell, but I am the eternal optimist.

I say your question doesn't make sense - if we evolved into this, we couldn't have avoided evolving into this, so we can't complain about this or blame it on others? ... you've gotta work on your wording, buddy.

Some of us evolved to be critical thinkers, and time will tell if critical thought is an advantage or disadvantage to survival.
