Several parents using my local YMCA for their kids' after school care are having problems getting the school board and department of transportation to make an exception on our behalf because we only need the school bus to take the kids from this one school to the Y after school because the Y is only open after school. The transportation department will only approve a bus route if it is for both before and after school. How can I word this effectively? We are only talking about one bus picking up several kids making one pick up and one drop offin the afternoon.

Each state and school district have their own rules for bus transportation. You need the details of what they are.

You might have to hire your own bus to take them to the "Y" or have parents take turns transporting them.
