Is it Muslims versus Christians or Muslims versus Everyone?

OK for all you "it's the Christians" or "the West" why are they beheading Buddhists in the East? And why blow up those 2,000 year old statues?

And for all you "it's just the radicals" what is Islam? Go and buy a Koran - get up on Amazon.com and buy a Koran and read it this weekend. Tell me then whether violance and racism are part of Islam itself, not just the excesses of a few radicals.

It's Muslims against everyone else. They are, as a whole, very intolerant of different beliefs.

Some Muslims would be happy to live in peace with all other religions. However, looking at the radical Muslims, they are against everyone, including other Muslims. They view the Jews and Christians as heretics, of course. They also oppose other Muslims sects such as the Sufi's (a peaceful but heavily persecuted sect), the Bahai's, the Hindi's--truly everyone. The greatest attention is now focused on the 2 main sects in Iraq, the Sunnis and Shiites, who have literally been fighting for over 1300 about who is the legimate heir to Mohammad.

Although they'll probably concentrate on the Jews and Christians before the other religions, because they know that if they attack the Jews and Christians, most of the other countries will stand by and do nothing. But if they attacked another religion, the Jews and Christians might have the decency to stop them (like when Saddam Hussein attacked Kuwait).

But if they ever do manage to beat the Jews and Christians, they'll go after the rest later.

It is the creation of a caste system with 'true' Muslims at the top, followed by the rest of those who follow Islam, then by the Dhimmis, and finally by everyone else, with a dramatic decrease in rights/protections the farther down the caste system you are, to the point that if a Muslim kills a Dhimmi, under strict Sharia law, the Muslim cannot be charged with murder.

Dhimmitude is the status that Islamic law, the Sharia, mandates for non-Muslims. Dhimmi's are made subject to a number of humiliating regulations designed to enforce the Qur'an's command that they "feel themselves subdued" (Sura 9:29). This denial of equality of rights and dignity remains part of the Sharia, and, as such, is part of the law that global jihadists are laboring to impose everywhere.

To be a Dhimmi, you must accept the system and stay within it's codes, agreeing to be a second class (or lower) person. In general, the Muslim attitude toward dhimmis was one of contempt.

As with all major world religions, the people who practice it are not necessarily the same as the teachings of the religion. Christianity is a great example of this. there are xenophobic, hating, fearful, isolationist christians, who although they may believe in God and Christ, actually do not follow the teachings of Christ. In Islam, the teachings of the Koran are tightly controlled by the heirarchy, very similar to what the Catholic church was like in the 15/1600's in Spain. It was used as a political tool, and Islam is used as such now. Are there Muslims who would disagree with the concept and practice of Sharia/Dhimmitude, sure, are they in control of their religion, not at all!!

Personally, I would refuse to peacefully live under the conditions of Dhimmitude! It would be similar to agreeing to go back in cultural time and reinstate legal slavery of people who are not the ruling class.

It is the Islamofacist Muslims against anyone else (not all Muslims are Islamofacist). The Islamofacists have been attacking the Jews for quite a long time. They will attack and kill anyone who doesn't agree with their point of view. Let's remember that they are killing a heck of a lot of MUSLIMS in Iraq and the Taliban treated other Muslims rather brutally as well.

Actually Islam's war is with the entire non-Islamic world. Historically Islam's worst crimes have been against Hindus. What Muslims did during the invasions of India make Hitler look like Mother Theresa.

Another little bit of important information. Islamic teaching divides the world into 2 groups.

The House of Islam - All lands subject to Islamic law.
The House of War - All lands not yet subject to Islamic law.

It also specifically teaches that people from the "House of War" have no right to life or property.

What other religion can you think of that sanctions drawing the blood of your own child?
Killing your children if they dishonor you?
Beating your wife, owning slaves-
yep the Religion of Peace alright

And why is it the moderate Muslims (since they out number the violent "radicals") can not silence their bloodthirsty brethren.
We aren't talking about a Fred Phelps (Christian preacher who preaches hate but he doesn't kill people in the name of God.) Every Christain in the world along with anyone who has ever heard him has tried to shut him up.
Look at Iraq- the violence there is caused by 2 warring faction of Islam- the Sunni and the Shia. hell, these freaks can't even stand each other.

I know quite a few Muslims who aren't against anyone.

I think it's more fair to say it's radical muslims against the west.

EDIT: I've read the Koran (english only, since I don't know arabic). It's a decent read, about the same as the Bible or the Torah. You ought to read Leviticus sometime. It's about the same.

Almost all religions have really nasty sections of their prime religious texts. The question is whether the religion can outgrow that. I'd say that for the most part, Islam has.

As far as the radical Muslims go, it's them against everyone that isn't a Muslim. They don't seem to realize that there are only 1.6 billion of them but there are 2.4 billion Christians alone. They are grossly out numbered and out gunned. If they want to die for their fake god then let them. I'll be happy to help them meat their maker. Yes I know the way I spelled meat, it was on purpose.
