Hey guys, I'm wondering how I can declare something as null in VB.NET. IN C#.NET, I could just say,

If (liname.text != null)

{

DO SOMETHING

}

In vb.net, however, it tells me the null statement is no longer supported. How would I make a statement in VB.NET 2005 that says if a text string is not null, then do something? Thanks, your help is appreciated.

We open our hearts to the US when they are in need. Two things come to mind immediately:
- a brave Canadian diplomat who hid kidnapped American diplomats for days and then smuggled them out of Iran
- shutting down every airport in our country on 9/11 and making emergency plans in case a US plane had to land anywhere in our country as well as opening our homes to stranded Americans

We fight for what we believe in:
- Canada was fighting Hitler two years before the US
- Canada had twice as many deaths per capita as Americans in WWII

It just seems that all Americans think of is "those b&*#$%$#$ didn't join us in Iraq". What happened to free will and free speech? Only if it is what they like? And why can't they just appreciate having a country for a neighbour that is a beautiful, friendly, peaceful, stable democracy instead of bashing our healthcare system or our people? Just wondering.

I would think that most would like to have a neighbour like us.

Was this line ever really used in any traditional wedding ceremonies, or was it invented for those in soap-operas and chick-flick movies?

My son is three years old and wants to start preschool. The problem is that most Florida schools don't offer preschool except to special needs students who need an early start. I also can't afford the VPK(voluntary prekindergarten) program that is offered in private daycare and private schools. I am not sure exactly what to do.
I am a stay at home mom but I am also trying to go to college as well. So finiaces are stretched and family has stepped in to watch my children. None of us are sure which course of action we should take. Do you have any suggestions?
