My brand new Lenovo3000 N100 laptop came with a 99 day free use of Norton Symantec Anti-virus program. After the free trial I will have to pay for it. Paying I dont mind, but I really hate paying with a credit card online. Is there any other way I can get Norton legally?

Uninstall your Norton and use AVG Free from Grisoft, the best free antivirus here on net.

Sure. Buy the product (Norton Antivirus) in a store or online. Then uninstall your trial version and then install the purchased one. (I only say that because I don't know if the retail version can be installed on top of the trial version.

You're right to be concerned. Symantec *may* have a plan for infinite renewals when they have your cc number.

Like hell "they're all secured". Tell me that again when you find $5000 charges on your card, okay?

Some credit cards offer a "card generator". Visa does, for example. You give, say, Discover(discovercard.com) your card number and they generate another "account" that's only active for the time you specify and only contains the money you specify. I also believe you can state who can access it. Go to your card's website and look for one, or ask their customer service about it.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover*, Wire Transfer*, Check, Phone

According to the above link on Symantec's page, they accept the aforementioned payment methods.
You can contact them for the specifics on how to set up the payment.

I believe the AVG answer is a good one, plus Spybot. I don't have too much faith in Norton's crap,(whoops, did I just call their crap, crap?)
