I see it all the time, i volunteer at a hospice. I think its disgusting that we toss our old people aside for others to take care of. i understand that people have jobs, responsibilities, etc but at least go visit your people at the home once in a while. they get so sad when they dont have visitors.

It's unforgivable!

I care for my ailing mother. It's a hard job, but, hey! She raised me for How Many Years?? The very least I can do is take care of her at home now.

When she suggested she go to a nursing home (I'm sorry :( They call it a living care center) I refused on the grounds that I can take care of her and her needs better than any stranger or so-called professional.

Anyone who passes off a parent to someone else's care, outside of their own home, ought to be sent to live in that nursing home themselves. Also, they should have to forfeit any inheritance they were to receive.

It makes me sick! People who do that to the elderly are disgusting and they deserve the harshest punishment possible!

I believe children should help care for their parents, they took care of them when they couldn't.
