And which religion are we supposed to believe in when there's so much conflict and contradiction. And how can American Indians believe in many Gods. I'm confused which religion is the right one?

No, there is not a general consensus. Lots of different people find lots of different answers. The belief in many different gods, or polytheism, used to be very common. Monotheism, the belief in a single god is a relatively new concept by comparison. I believe that people find religion to be so important because they want to believe that things make sense, that life has a purpose, and that life is ultimately fair. The existence of a supreme being with a perfect plan, who will punish the wicked and reward the good, comforts people. It lets them believe that life is more than just random chaos, where the evil rise to power while the good suffer. Some religions have exploited this need for hope to subjugate people. Others are simply paths to finding answers. I can't tell you which if any are right. Perhaps some come close to something you can follow. "Treat others as you would like to be treated" works pretty well no matter what if any religion you choose to believe in.

Religion is NOT "FAITH"
Xtians for some reason think they've cornered the market on WHO and WHAT god is. They even disagree with each other even though they use the same book. One branch said jesus is god, the other jesus is the son of god, yet another jesus and god are interchangeable.

There are religions that predate this idea by thousands of years, yet the STILL insist THEIRS is the ONLY right one. Even though "all roads lead to rome" and "i have many names and many faces"

Who are we mortals to decide what GOD / Goddess / GODS are the right one?

for MOST of us, it's not 'many gods" What the xtians can NOT understand is saying "thank you" to things you take for food. They mistook this for worship of the animal, river, etc.
Everything has a name, and if it has a name it's ALIVE. We respect LIFE.

I follow my peoples Traditions.
Live
Respect
Don't take more then you NEED to survive.
Honor what you to TAKE.
There is no 'Dogma" no prescribed time to pray, no prescribed prayers.

There is no such thing as a "right" religion. Religion implies a belief in supernatural phenomena. But if you allow the possibility of such, you can no longer make predictions -- there is always the possibility that your expectation would be overruled by a supernatural event. And if you can't make predictions, you are basically dead meat.

I shall not confront to you which religon is the correct one. You must find this out your own way(and not by asking on yahoo answers), I bet many people will just shout out their religon. You should work hard and find the right one. I do, though, know the correct one.

Religon IS important. You have to ask the question, why are you on earth? Once you have the correct religon, you will be able to answer that question truthfully.

Read. Read the Bible, read Christian material, and/or listen to & watch Christian programs. You could try going to various denominational Church's and come to a conclusion. I think there will be members of many, many faiths in Heaven. I don't think only religion has a "corner on the market." See what the basis of the Bible is. See what salvation is and how it is attained. God Bless You and your quest.

Just be nice and respectful to other people and you're set.

There really isn't a right religion as long as they're morally acceptable and doesn't go too far with their beliefs and practices.

you need to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. That He died for your sins, on the 3rd day rose from the dead and sits on the right hand of God
