The first announcement of the Eucharist divided the disciples, just as the announcement of ths passion scandalized them: "This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?" (Jn 6:60). The Eucharist and the Cross are stumbling blocks. It is same mystery and it never ceases to be an occasion of division. "Will you also go away?" (Jn 6:67). The Lord's question echoes through the ages, as a loving invitation to discover that only he has "The words of eternal life"(Jn6:68) and that to receive the gift of the Eucharist is to receive the Lord himself.
The Church has celebrated the Eucharist from the beginning at the Lord's command. The Protestant Reformers turned the Eucharist to only a sympolic representation. But this was not so for 1600 years until them.
Jesus means what he says, and says only what he means. "This is my Body" "This is my Blood" "Do this in memory of Me" He gave them his body, blood, soul and divinity to partake of. Memorial for jews is real presence.

I did marching freshman year, and I'm tired of it. I mean I have to get up for practice at 5:30 am. Every friday night we have to go and march at the football games. My parents are forcing me to stay since I'm not joined in any other clubs and they paid 1,800 dollars for my flute. How to convince them to let me quit?

So I get a call from one of my buddies and he tells me that him and a bunch of my other friends are coming in town for my friend's birthday party and they want me to come. So I'm like "Ok, this is going to be awesome. I get to dress up nice, smell good, get my drink on, maybe meet a few new people. This is going to be awesome." But for some reason, and this always happens, I am thinking of excuses to get out of it. And I don't know what it is, but I know what I am thinking of is stupid and I should just go.

I don't know why, but I get these feelings of something bad happening. I know my night won't be perfect, but I get freaked out that SOMETHING is going to happen, and it could be anything. I know that if I just go and do it, I will have a blast. But like I said, I am already thinking up of excuses not to go. Any advice on how I can calm down about this?

I'm a 35 year old guy, married happily, no kids, and decent career success. A lot of people would look at me and say "successful happy guy" and I genuinely am. However, I have had recurring dreams of the same "theme" for as long as I can remember...going back to being a kid in grade school. I usually dream it once or twice a month, sometimes more, and sometimes less.

The dreams start out the same, and I am with a mixed group of family, friends and strangers in various settings. As the dream progresses, slowly...one-by-one...the people will "transform" and be taken over by aliens/ghosts/or disease that turn them into evil beings that try to get me. Sometimes it can happen right when I am talking to them.

By the end of the dream I am usually being chased by many of them, and trying to hide in dark corners or behind closed doors. Sometimes I "fly" like Superman in my dreams to get away. I've had this dream several times this week, and it is really nagging me. Thoughts?

tearing. They hurt like someone has beat them with a paddle or something. Now my ankles are swelling too. If I sit for a while then get up,, I can hardly walk! Should I be asking about surgery to fix this? We are going on a trip where we'll be walking alot, in late September.
