My catholic wife fervently believes in St. Anthony as a finder of lost items. After searching everywhere she prays to him whenever she has lost something and darned if she doesn't find it.
Years ago I had lost my car keys and was desperately late for work. She suggested praying to St. Anthony and, as a last resort, I reluctantly said the prayer. I was standing alone in the kitchen and I distinctly heard a loud voice (not male nor female) say "look in the 2nd drawer from the refrigerator." I whirled around expecting to find someone in the room but I was alone. I looked in the drawer and there sat the keys that my toddler son had hidden.

Scenario:
Foreclosure is imminent; Non-Judicial state (California). The homeowner has run out of options (short sale, deed in lieu, etc.) and is prepared to walk away.

They respond to a road sign that says "we buy houses".
The company represents that they will "buy" the house in an attempt to sell it to a 3rd party or private investor.

To do so it requires the owner to sign over title. No promises are made that they will be able to sell the house and no promise is made that the owner will in any way be able to regain title. Unlike equity skimming scams, the intent is not for the owner to rent or lease the property and regain title later. Disclosure is made that any equity in the home will be lost and the only goal in the transaction is to avoid a foreclosure on the credit of the owner. Even that is explained that it is not a guarantee that this will occur and it is up to the owner to dilligently communicate with the credit credit bureaus.

he notices a couple arguing over the meaning of a painting. the painting is of three black men, butt naked, sitting on a bench, but the black man in the middle has a white penis. the gallery owner interprets this by saying that the painting is metaphoric of the black man's struggle in a white man's world, then he leaves the couple to think over it. they begin to argue again, when a man with a wv t-shirt comes up to them, he says..the owner is wrong about this painting, the couple ask how he knows this and he replies..because i'm the artist. intrigued to know the meaning of it they ask him what it represents...he says well it's not black guys at all they are actually coalminers and they are on a bench waiting to get their showers and the one in the middle went home for lunch....can't you tell?

I'm 16 and i'm pretty sure i have an anxiety problem. I have countless anxiety/panic attacks in the last couple years, but this past month has been ''especially'' bad for me. I am anxious for most of the day everyday. My parents don't know about this yet. I really want to tell them, but i'm finding it very hard cause i hardly talk to them about anything. I'm afraid they won't believe me or they will think i'm weird. How do i tell them? What should i say? Serious answers only!

Lot's of anti-atheist "questions" tonight...

Over the last few hours, I've seen people accuse atheists of being "incapable of feeling love", "without morals", "rejects/nerds/emos/punks/goths", "heretics" and "devil worshippers".

I'd like a true opinion from a true believer: what is your position on people who either:
- Deny the existence of God
- Do not believe in the non-material existence of souls or in the afterlife.
- Do not believe there is actual proof that God exists

Are we all emotionless drones or tools of Satan to you?

The basic Republican theology is less taxes, more military and no wealth fare. The thing I can't get is why many so people who come from poor backrounds vote republican. It's like they don't even think about how they're voting. Less taxes means less public services and worse public education. The only people who would benifit from that are the people who have enough money to send their children to private schools. And if you have less taxes, then how can you have more military if the military funds are all tax based. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't vote Republican unless they're a rich oil tycoon trying to defend every single dollar they make. And then the Republicans you idiots elect give out tax cuts to the rich. How is that helping the Average American? What ever happened to the American Dream? The idea that someone from the bottom of the social ladder can rise to the top.
