YES, it is very edible. In fact, there are Harry Potter Earwax Jelly Beans on the market today made from (and this is their claim NOT mine) annual Royalty Earwax donation campaigns, where over half the proceeding go to The Hearing Impaired Association of Cerumen.

Maybe because you keep giving it to your cat thats what it thinks it is supposed to eat, try not letting your cat eat it anymore, feed it multi vitamins. Say 'bad kitty' when it trys to eat ear wax.
