If you're speaking of the sport-basketball where players shoot the ball to the basket, WHY would it be sinful?

No, It's not.

If you hear from someone that says it IS, that person doesn't understand the meaning of SIN.

In the bible, sports are not prohibited.

Let's read 1 Corinthians 9:24-26

"Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run, that ye may attain.

And every man that striveth in the games is temperate in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air:"

And

1 Timothy 4:8

"for bodily exercise is profitable for a little; but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life which now is, and of that which is to come. "

SPORTS are not sinful. In fact, it has a profit in it, although little compared to godliness which is profitable for all things.

Absolutely not! Its the attitude that comes with it that "CAN BE" sinful. For example, sometimes people will fight or get angry over a basketball game! Thats not right! Other than that, if people do it right, no problem whatsoever!

not as long as you don't play it with a competitive way of thinking. Play just for fun. You sin anyways, just by being human.

No it is not. However, putting basketball before the worship of Jehovah God may be something to think about. I would put no sport above the worship of Jehovah God.
