At a morning news conference where he released a mixed progress report on his troop buildup, Mr. Bush repeatedly invoked the threat of Al Qaeda as a reason to stick with his strategy, saying the group he referred to as Al Qaeda in Iraq “has sworn allegiance to Osama bin Laden.”

"Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia did not exist before the Sept. 11 attacks. The Sunni group thrived as a magnet for recruiting and a force for violence largely because of the American invasion of Iraq"

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/13/world/middleeast/13qaeda.html?th&emc=th

So let me get this straight - we know Al Qaeda didn't exist in Iraq before 9/11 (contrary to what Bush has claimed). Now because of the Iraq War, not only are they in Iraq, but have claimed allegiance to bin Laden, who Bush failed to catch because he sent the troops to Iraq? This is the justification for staying in Iraq?

Biggest irony ever?

“ALL ONE FINAL TIME ETERNAL DESTRUCTION FOREVER.”

These are the words that a responder chose to capitalize while describing what was likely to be discussed in a Jehovah's witness funeral service.

Did this person realize what he was emphasizing? Is this the underlying tone of HIS message? He talked about God, Jesus and a restored paradise earth and how no one would ever die again. But the thing that stands out to the objective observer is everybody's going to DIE.

Jehovah's witnesses carefully and methodically dissect the Bible and present a message that's supposed to appeal to all mankind. They want to emphasize how genuinely "nice" they are because they are doing the will of God. And they want you to join them.

But what is the part they are holding back from you at your door? What is the part they wait to tell you after they've held your interest for weeks of study? That most of mankind will die to bring about that happiness they've been telling you about.

He has a an ex girl that keeps calling and txting...and now there's this girl who has surfaced saying he's tryed to get with her...she has my number too and has been sending me threatening txt's (to him too). Should I just end things with him to spare myself the suffering if I let it go any further? (we've been together officially for a month, but I knew him since 7th grade) I've already had guys play me, so I really dont want to suffer like this anymore...please advise me on what you would do, or think I should do? Oh, and those psycho b*tches are threatening my life...talking bout they're gonna hurt me an kill me...and blah blah blah. I'm sooo confused because what I'm wondering most of all is how the hell did that girl get my number?....for real, like how?...the only way I come up with is that she's seen his phone and has actually looked into it...so it means she's that close to him, or that she's telling the truth...right?

First of all, let me say that I already know the answer to this one. I'm asking it just to generate some thought and discussion.

Here's the scenario:

The captain of Spaceship "A" watches as Spaceship "B" flies past at a (constant) speed of 1/2 c. According to the theory of relativity, moving clocks tick slowly; this means the time on Spaceship "B" is passing only 87% as fast as the time on Spaceship "A".

But now look at it from the point of view of the other captain. According to him, his own Spaceship (B) is standing still, while Spaceship "A" is moving at 1/2 c. So Captain "B" believes that Spaceship "A" is the one with the slow clock.

Can each "moving" clock actually be slower than the other ("stationary") clock? If not, are they both "really" ticking at the same speed? If not, which one is "really" slower?

This question is a little like the famous "Twin Paradox," except I've set this one up so that nobody accelerates and nobody changes reference frames.

There was a hatted girl named Lily
Whose laugh sounded rather quite silly.
She danced on her toes
And spun out of control,
And landed on her poor little tooshie.

And then in her seated sanguinity
She had a strange craving for lolly.
She wrinkled her nose
And then she arose,
And ran all the way to her Swedey!

But, alas, when she reached his abode
He was working his little fellow.
Not to be left behind,
She knelt o'er his recline,
And proceed to give him the big O!

I've got 1 previous ticket for AS at 20mph over...now i realize my fines/penalties will vary based on the judge, but is there any standard punishment for the speed over i was going? I've got a court date, nothing else written on the ticket.

I own a home. It has been empty since August of last year. We tried to sell it for six months, no go. Now we've had it on the rental market for nearly three months, and though there have been nibbles, no bites yet. We signed a year contract with our property manager, but not being rented after three months has me doubting their prowess. Do I have a right to get out of the contract, or am I stuck?

The house is in the Denver area.
