Bessie, the church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several residents were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her enough to remain silent.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his pick-up truck parked in front of the town's only pub one afternoon. She commented to George and others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing.
Later that evening, George quietly parked his pick-up in front of Bessie's house-and left it there all night.

How long do you need to wait to get a new laptop?

I've been thinking about getting a new laptop but it's only been 4 years since I got my old one. It's okay, but I would like a new one with more advanced features. Should I wait longer, or go ahead and get a new laptop?

How do you deal with office gift and money collections?

Every day someone is asking me for money -- someone's leaving, pregnant, death in family, in the hospital, also fundraisers for school, church, Scouting (candy, catalogues, etc.). I can't do everbody I'd be broke. I don't even know who some of these people they are collecting for.

Do you do a search for the questions with no answers? Knowing that if you get the first answer in you have a great chance of getting the most best answer votes?

Do you even bother answering the questions with over 20-30 answers already?

What are your opinions about the "professionals" questions? Does ANYONE read 5,978 answers??

Do you agree that it is absurd how lazy people are to only read the first 2 or 3 answers?

No, I'm not a student too lazy to do his own research to write a term paper. I'm a writer with an interest in the war years and would like to hear your stories. Do you have some memories to share?
