Although I oppose it...I imagine the USA will adopt a socialist health care program in the near future.
The Healthcare industry sees it, and is grabbing what profit they can before the likes of you put them under.

I know my HMO is charged more for my care that an uninsured person. I went to the emergency room with a viral infection as did a friend of mine. I was admitted to the hospital and she was given antibiotics and sent home. She was charged $250 for the emergency room and my HMO was charged $800. The hospitals use insured to help cover the cost of the uninsured.

Lots of Healthcare questions today...
Lots of missinformation too.

Healthcare costs don't rise. (Not in the sence of your question.) The charge to the individual may rise. HMOs don't contribute to politicans for better laws, they contribute to politicals to prevent more bad laws from being created.

When government begins to control healthcare they are meddling in the market. When government begins to pay/share healthcare charges the market is again distorted.

If we get government out of the healthcare system. Individuals would have to pay their own healthcare charges. No hospital or doctor could stay in business if they didn't make their fees reasonalble. Eliminate market distortions and you eliminate the need of many politicans to play nanny. It also forces the healtcare industry to face their actual costs and price themselves honestly.
