You can listen to what ever you what. Though over time you might start to find the lyrics of some songs to be offensive or make you uncomfortable. Certianly many of the themes and ideas promoted in secular rap music are not compatible with Christianity.

If you like the Rap beat check out some of these artists: KJ-52, Toby Mac, Manafest. For more check out this site:http://www.christian-hiphop.net

There is also a lot of Christian Rock and Pop out there as well:

Artist(songs)
Hard rock:
Hawk Neslon(The One Thing I Have Left, Bring Em Out)
Broken Yoke(Vapor, Caught in the moment)
Kutless(Strongtower, Hearts of the Innocent)

Rock
Newsboys(Who, Joy, Thrive, Breakfast, Live in Stereo, It is you, He Reigns, Wherever we go, I am Free, Something Beautiful)
Audio Adrenaline(Hands and Feet and Big House)
Third Day(You are mine)
Casting Crowns(Voice of Truth, Lifesong, Does Anybody Hear Her, Praise You In This Storm)
Building 429(The Space between Us)
Matthew West(Happy, I can’t hear you, Out of my hands)
Downhere(A better way)
RelientK(forward motion, getting into you, mood rings)

Pop/Praise
Chris Tomlin(How great is our god, Indescribable, Made To Worship)
MercyMe(Here With Me, Homesick, Shine on, So long self)
Superchic[k] – (Stand in the Rain)
Matt Redman – (You Never Let Go)
Aaron Shust – (My Savior My God)
Jeremy Riddle (Sweetly Broken)

you wanna be a christina or a fanatic?????
i don't see any problem with listening to music an d being a christian.
to believe in god(i'm not talking about religion)is to do what he wants, to follow his teaching.

I knew a girl whosais was chistian, ona of my teachers try to make us get into a relationship, but because i have no religion( I believe in god, I'm no t an atheist) she said it was impossible. that her religion won't allow that. but. later she met a guy at a bar and she had sex with him the very same night. is thta allow by her religion???
it is not bad to listen to music. so do not worry.
you have to do what you consider ok. listen to your heart, if it says is bad, then stop doing it.

god put you in this world to enjoy the gift of life but responsibly.

Ok first of all I am a Christian rapper. And of course you can be a Christian and listen to Rap. Just as long as it's music that glorifies Christ. You see sometimes people say that all rap is bad because of what rap has become today. They don't see that Christian rap is totally set apart from secular. The only thing we have in common is the beat and that it rhymes. But they don't see the message that Christian rappers portray. There is such a difference between the two.

There are lots of Christian rappers who use their talent to bring God the glory.

and with that I will leave you with this little online freestyle

Some people say dawg you got sick flow
You can go big get chicks make a lot of dough
Thanks bro, but I ain't about the cash tho'
My main goal is to try to reach the lost souls
Yeah I rap, but not like the regular catz
Who lie, cuss, lust and boast in they raps
See they can hate me but it don't matter
I'm not rappin to be liked It's Christ that I'm after
Haters gonna hate it cuz it's Christ who I'm praisin'
I can spit a hundred bars and I'll still be underrated

I hope this helped.
God Bless.

God doesn't care what music you listen to. Its whats in your heart and how you live your life that matters...For example, I love rap/hip hop but that doesn't keep me from loving or worshiping God and Jesus whether at home, in the grocery store or at church or in my Sunday School class.
