I have always called myself AGNOSTIC. My family raised me without ANY RELIGION and I'm trying to figure it all out. Lately I've been thinking I need to SETTLE DOWN and pick a religion and I've been asking questions and studying them.

The thing is, A LOT of people say there is no God. For example, if I'm an atheist and there's no God, when I die I die. That's it. And by their line of thinking if I'm a Christian and I die, I still just die and that's it.

BUT if the Christians are right then I do have A LOT to lose if I'm not a Christian when I die. So WHY would I not just be a Christian, just in case?

I think it's a old 70's R&B song and its like"when ever you call me I'll be there, when ever you need me I'll be there" I forgot the next part but then it goes "I'll be around." It is not the Jackson 5.

I have always wondered why supposed answered prayers ALWAYS intangible, never tangible. Supposedly god answers millions of prayers all over the world every day, but not one single one of them is tangible. Why doesn't god give people eardrums, eyes, arms or legs back if they were born without them or lost in an accident? Why doesn't god answer prayers to cure people from severe mental retardation or severe physical handicaps?
Why is it that ALL answered prayers can be defined logically with physics, mathematics, random chance and science?
If there is a god, does he have something against answering prayers for tangible wishes? Does he discriminate against those with physical or mental challenges?

Or, perhaps, there is no god and religious people are deluding themselves, creating answers in order to pacify themselves?

I am considering leasing a horse. However, if the lease is very expensive, I will have to cut down on the number of lessons I have. At the moment I have 1 lesson a week. I am still a beginner.
My question is, should I lease this horse and ride 3 times a week teaching myself, or should I not lease him and continue weekly lessons?
My trainer said I need to ride more to make my legs stronger.
I just don't want to develop bad habits while riding on my own.
What do you think?

The Watchtower article "Do you know God by name?" reads in part: "What is God's name? Humans all have personal names. Why, many people even name their pets! Would it not be reasonable for God to have a name? ...Ironically, millions who profess faith in the God of the Bible do not use his personal name."

God says at Jer. 16:21"I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know Mine hand and My might; and they shall know that My Name is [YHWH / Jehovah]."

Yet, God then says at Jer. 23:5-6: 5 “ Behold, the days are coming,” says [YHWH/Jehovah] “ That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; NOW THIS IS HIS NAME BY WHICH HE WILL BE CALLED: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." (In Hebrew, this is "YHWH Tsidkenu.")

Where in the Yellow pages does one find a better alternative to the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses?

That religion would have to follow the Bible.
Since religion requires adherents, that means that there would be people in that religion. And those people would gather.
And that alternative would have to be able to be found worldwide.

I have not found a better alternative.

My daughter is 5 yrs old and only seen her biological father a handful of times as a newborn so she has never 'met' him.I orginally asked my daughters biological father to keep his distance till our daughter was a little bit older about age 6 or 7 for them to meet.I did this because her father is a Russian business man Not a U.S citizen(works in banking)who travels a lot and i did not want my daughter to be confused. But he still sent presents and money for her.My daughter in return sent him her art work with some cards and both of them have seen photos of each other.I also married someone else she knows as her step dady or other daddy whom i am now divorcing after 4 yrs they did not get along well.I spoke with my daughters real father and he is very willing to take the time out to see his daughter. How do introduce them slowly and how?I think with my upcoming divorce this important. Also her father spent time in Russian prison and has a odd essortment of tatoos which will scare her?

And everyone should know Iran should NOT have nuclear weapons. Last I checked Israel was not threatening to blow anyone off the map like Iran.

Oliver Stone's Alexander, starring Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie, was universally dismissed as a wretched, unwatchable film. I, however, thought it was fascinating. Sure, there were campy moments, but they're expected in any period piece. Otherwise, I thought it was appropriately epic and often very sexy. Not a bad film at all.

*ANYONE* else enjoy it?

I am researching Tourette's Syndrome for a school project. I chose this subject because I have three autistic kids, one of whom was suspected as having Tourette's until several tests were completed. I'd like to have any feedback about your experiences, medications, or how it has affected your life if you don't mind sharing. THANK YOU!
