I have always wondered why supposed answered prayers ALWAYS intangible, never tangible. Supposedly god answers millions of prayers all over the world every day, but not one single one of them is tangible. Why doesn't god give people eardrums, eyes, arms or legs back if they were born without them or lost in an accident? Why doesn't god answer prayers to cure people from severe mental retardation or severe physical handicaps?
Why is it that ALL answered prayers can be defined logically with physics, mathematics, random chance and science?
If there is a god, does he have something against answering prayers for tangible wishes? Does he discriminate against those with physical or mental challenges?
Or, perhaps, there is no god and religious people are deluding themselves, creating answers in order to pacify themselves?

I would have to agree that the scenario mentioned after "or..." in your question is most accurate....
but who knows? maybe there is a god and (s)he is so petty as to be jealous of us.....for who answer (her)/his prayers? and so there inlies the problem.....god has his own intentions first. *nods*

HaHa! Intangible? I have plenty of answered prayers that are definately "tangible"
God still heals- cancer, diseases and etc. Sometimes these answers come through science and medicine and technology.
Because man does not want to believe in an all powerful God- man reasons away- "logically explains" His miracles.
If God did give a man a limb back- people would just mark it up to evolution and parade that poor man all over the earth as an example.

You have been looking in the wrong places.
First, God does not do miracles to satisfy the desires or curiosity of men.
Second, miracles come to the faithful after their faith is tested.
Third, and probably most importantly, you need to learn the distinction between physical manifestations and spiritual manifestations. Miracles are predominantly spiritual, not physical.
I have seen both kinds in my life. One of my missionary companions contracted meningitis and the doctors essentially gave up on him. He received a blessing and recovered completely without any side effects. That was unheard of. I was stranded on a lonely highway with my family in the middle of the night. Within five minutes a car came along and offered the help that we needed. Another car did not come along all that night. On another trip, the gas tank ran out too early in the middle of the night and a person was there to give us a couple gallons to keep going. When that ran out, another person was there with a couple gallons to keep us going. We then made it to the next town where we could fill up.
My father had a massive heart attack and the doctors could not stabilize him. After a blessing, he stabilized and they were able to transport him to the cardiac facility. That was seven years ago. The doctor said he should not have lived but he is still with us.
Miracle do happen and they are tangible. But most importantly, they are spiritual manifestations of faith and bring comfort to those that believe.

God answers in tangible ways all the time. And not all answered prayers can be defined logically, ect... God was behind it all, and humans tend to push Him aside to put in what they want to think happened and make them look better.
God has said He will provide for all of our needs, if only we believe in Him. But that doesn't mean life will always be easy following Him.

GOD, has his reasons, I can on;y speculate that he would not give tangible miracles because those people as they are, are better testaments to God. PHanny Crosby was once asked if she wanted he eyesight back. She said no, the first thing she wanted to see was Jesus once she got to heaven. These people have to come to terms with themsleves. And God would not dare take that chance away from them. If you haven't noticed he loved you so much he died for you, and yet you reject him. He knows this and like a parent lets you go on your own and learn yourself because that is the only way. There I answered your question, now answer mine, Who close to you died or was injured because God would not answer there prayer?

Answered prayers aren't always intangible, healings are pretty tangible. But I agree lots of prayers are intangible and/or could be put down to huge coincidences. One of my friends had problems with her leg/hip joint where it hurted her to walk on it for a long time, she got prayer, saw her leg grow an inch (and the doctors measured it and confirmed this too) and now she has no problems walking.
