i don't mean the book of numbers from the torah, i mean actual numbers. 7 is said to be the number of perfection (7 spirits, 7 churches of asia, 7 times around the wall of jericho), and it seems that the number 40 may have some kind of meaning also (40 days and nights of rain, 40 days of Jesus fasting in the desert, 40 years of moses wandering in the desert). what are some more numbers and what, if anything, do they imply?

This is so confusing!

I have an offer from DataCom (pretty big company), working with a team of (initially) 6-8 as a web developer, and also some client facing.

Then I have an offer from a small firm (only 6-8 employees in total). Same role, but with fast progression to team leader and also pays $10K more than the first role.

So which one should I choose? DataCom have already made an offer. The other company hasn't offered yet, but I've had a phone interview and they sound keen to hire me.

Another problem is I've been keeping DataCom waiting for a week now and they're saying if I don't take the job they'll have to give it to someone else.

Any suggestions?

My house is 100 years old. It has a wooded "bubble" frame. The people in my town back then were all brick factory workers and brick layers.

They used to steal the bricks and but then within the frame of the house as insulation.

I am in the process of tearing down the plaster walls to put up sheet rock.

Is it best to leave the bricks as insulation given the amount of time and work it would take to take them down?

Or should I take the bricks out and put up standard insulation?

I think after all these years, the brick insulation has become part of the foundation of the house.

I see no arguement against this. They are sick evil individuals who if their mission fails should have no right to live.
What do you think ?

"I pre-ordered a book" - as opposed to having ordered a book.
"I am collecting pre-paid tickets" - as opposed to collecting paid tickets. How can you pre-pay for something. With tickets and books etc. you ALWAYS pay in advance! Has the whole world gone "pre" mad?

I have another tower that i was given a few months back, it looks although it is a costom made tower, put in with motherboard etc etc. The 80gb HDD that come with it doesn't do anything! It has an AMD athlon 2000xp Processor, and runs 512mb of ram memory, i do have another 256 to add, depending which OS i use.

I am having trouble with loading ME onto it, it seems to be taking forever, to do what my old tower done within 12 hours!
I am still using the 10bg HDD as i have no other one ( that Works )

I am wondering if i should put XP back onto it because it might just go through the cycle of not working again, where it keeps restarting and returning the the safe mode option screen, and yet again restarting.

I also Have Windows 2000 Proffetionall, But when i try to install my broadband software it comes up with a grey box saying ' OrandBroadband Has caused an Error in Unknown.
What does this mean??

Many thanks, Dave ;-)

A salesman checked into a hotel on a business trip and was a bit lonely. He was single so he got to thinking about some female company. He thought he'd get one of those girls you see advertised in phone books from one of the "escort" services. He picked a number and dialed it.

A woman answered, "Hello?"

"Hi, I hear you do escorts and massages and I'd like you to come to my hotel room and give me a massage. And after that I want sex! In fact I want jungle sex . . . wild, crazy hanging-from-the-chandelier type sex! I'm talking kinky, the whole night, you name it we'll do it! Bring all kinds of sex toys too! I don't care what they are, you can use them on me! You can even tie me up and then cover me in whipped cream! Now how does that sound?" he asked.

The woman said, "Interesting sir, but for an outside line, you must press "9" first."
