Mike Hargrove is just burned out on baseball. He has been in the game in one position or other for over thirty years. This takes a tremendous toll on your personal life, family, etc. It may be that he just doesn't have time to enjoy himself or his family anymore or that it just isn't enjoyable to manage. I think he will take a couple years off and his love for the game will bring him back to managing. Good Luck Mike!

Possible reasons? It sounds like you don't believe him when he says that he's burned out. I take him at his word. He's been in the game a long time, and being burned out is quite believable. The hot streak has nothing to do with it.

Hargrove said he was leaving because of "burn out" and nothing else and I believe we should take him at his word. Any other comment by any of us would be pure speculation and would serve no purpose.
