Its like the kid so hellbent on throwing his friend in the pool. He will sink the whole boat to get his friend wet.
At what cost is being PC enough?

Stop it! Your "truthiness" has hurt my fragile sensibilities. I'm going to have to report you for being too honest.

Our leaders chose to go to an unplanned war against enemies that can't be identified. It doesn't really have anything to do with being politically correct. The chimp chose to go to war for several reasons and they include the following:
America rarely if ever, do not change leaders in a middle of a war; Americans were duped into believing there were WMD in Iraq and no western inspector(s) ever found anything, so the CIA was made into the scapegoat! The CIA took that kind of abuse, but with their history, I wouldn't tell them that, and still have a desire to live! Saddam Hussein was executed for the sole purpose "because he attempted to kill daddy Bush" and for not much else. Oh, the media got involved in reporting that Hussein killed and maimed a lot of Iraqis but the bottom line here is the American theft of oil, which is pretty much left out of the equation. The chimp believes HE is the government of America. How PC was that statement?
Yes, being PC may be the primary reason that America fails as a democracy, but if we leave the chimp out we are truly a misguided society and deserve whatever evil will surely befall us!

I agree that political correctness is killing this country. Some ask how, well let me give you a few examples:

1) We can't profile those from the middle east or of the muslim religion in search of terrorists.

2) If one person is offended by something that a 1000 people are watching or doing, that 1 person gets their way.

3) A 1st grader can't kiss another first grader on the cheek at recess and run away without a sexual harrassment suit being filed by the parents.

4) I can't compliment a woman on how she looks with out fear of sexual harrassment being hollered.

5) We haven't built a wall on the border, because it offends the hispanics.

6) We have taken the pledge of allegiance out of schools, because the word "God" offends people.

7) School/work functions can no longer be called Holloween or Christmas parties, because people are offended.

8) I can't even say "Merry Christmas" now a days with out someone trying to tell me it's "Happy Holidays".

9) We can't even have the 10 commandments in front of a court house anymore becuase they offend people.

10) People can't think what they want on homosexuality, racial issues, and such with out having to get some sort of therapy now a days.

Yeah most of these seem trivial, but over time it builds. Pretty soon we'll all be avoiding making eye contact, because you might offend them.
It's out of control

No, PC is not "killing" this society.

Apparently, expressing intelligent viewpoints is not nearly as entertaining as slamming and attacking.

It has nothing to do with "correctness;" it has to do with civility and the lack thereof.

Rational, fact-filled argumentation is one of civilization’s greatest achievements.
All people in a free society benefit when discourse is civil, which means that it should be reasoned, fact-filled, literate, specific, and respectful.

Honesty doesn't mean a complete gut-spilling, nor does it require that harsh or cruel words be used to convey one's honest thoughts.

Thoughts or opinions need not be expressed in the most offensive way.

PC is a strong tool that the extreme left is using and it's been very effective. Take a look at many country's in Europe and you'll see a prime example of what PC can do. These country's are in so deep that they'll never dig their way out. And it's happening here in the U.S. also.

PC doesn't work with me. I call them at their game and then lend them a deaf ear.

So there's a pool? And a boat? And a kid wants to throw his friend in? And this relates to political correctness? Hmm....
Not sure I can answer this question without another hint.
As far as the cost of PC goes, I paid about $1499 for my laptop. Hope that helps.

How is being sensitive to others in public discourse going to kill society?

So a large section of society cannot be outwardly racist and bigoted.

Who gives a crap about them anyway?
