my gf lost her best friend to suicide. she is trying to design a memorial tat. he was killed by a train.ideas?

Something that would represent him alive and happy. Pick out some of his interests and see what an artist can whip up. Let it be a tribute to his life, not to his death.

Like if he loved playing poker then a run of cards would be cool or if he loved music or played an instrument that could be easily done as well. Tattoo artists are very creative people, if you go in with a vague idea they can usually whip up something wonderul.

Memorial tattoos for people who took their own lives are always very difficult because there's so much emotion involved...sometimes for memorial tattoos there's a tendency to over-analyse what to include when quite often, the name and years of birth & death is enough.

What was there favorite thing to do together??? or even what was the best friends favorite thing??? a car... an animal... she should try to think of something that would best remind herself of her best friend... that would be the best way to go... for my dad i have a heart with flames on the banner it says dad 64-03 (i drew it myself)

i think she should think of what was his favorite thing. like did he collect some paticular thing or did he have a favorite song or pastime and then design something that represents that. she could add a teardrop to show her sorrow. tell her it will always hurt just not as bad and to never forget the good times.

Sounds grotesque. Better to make a living memorial, like volunteer for the mentally ill, than to deface the body.
