"I pre-ordered a book" - as opposed to having ordered a book.
"I am collecting pre-paid tickets" - as opposed to collecting paid tickets. How can you pre-pay for something. With tickets and books etc. you ALWAYS pay in advance! Has the whole world gone "pre" mad?

it's jsut some people, some companies - but it is sloppy thinking.
