I don't have a citation for this, but I have heard that some scientists believe that umbilical stem cells can be used for the same research methods as fetal stem cells.

Is that possible, to substitute umbilical stem cells instead of fetal stem cells? And if so, why isn't the scientific community pushing for using umbilical stem cells instead?

Could this replace fetal stem cells as a less controversial method of research?

I'm asking this because, yes, I'm 15, and I don't know how to go about asking them if it would be all right if I saw this guy sometimes. I am responsible, I'm always home on time, etc... basically a "good kid". Anyway, I don't exactly have a "talking" relationship with my parents, even though I've tried to make that so. I know they should meet him, etc..

How would you want your daughter to bring up the matter of dating? Thanks for any advice... I want this to work out, but obvoiusly I have to have my parents approval before I could spend time with him.

My daughter and I seen oprah today with a teenage girl who hid her pregnancy with her boyfriends help, had the baby, stabbed him, placed him in a gym bag. They placed rocks in the bag with the baby and through it is the lake or river (body of water) in the town where she lived. She is now in jail for 6 years.
My daughter and I sat down and talked about what would happen if she ever became pregnant. I let her know I didn't ever want her to run. We will work through it together. We actually talked about her finishing school and making choices. That i would probably be shocked, a little angy, scared with her but we would work through it together and never to run or hurt herself. I told her I want her to come talk to me before pregnancy happens so I can help her protect herself. Anyways, my question is have you talked to your teenager and what is your game plan?

For those who believe that carbon-14 is the only form of radiometric dating, there are also other elements around, such as uranium. We rely on these datings to tell us about the earth and the universe, as the half-life on such more complicated elements has a much greater decay rate, sometimes up to billions of years. This has been completely ignored by the 'Creationist Community'.

Instead of arguing Christ vs. Science, I'm just going to say that Creationists not only choose to ignore the fundamental principles about archeology and radiation, but lie about it too. In fact, they don't just lie about it, but render ignorance to the possibility it isn't essential that the Bible says the earth is only a few thousand years old, but choose that path because its blatant contraditions offer great controversy and attention. In short, lying attention seekers. Anyone out there disagree?

Does anyone agree that we should colonizing and learning how to survive on mars? I mean this could be a big step for us. And if you dont agree then why? Many scientists have said that if we start now we could be able to make it vegetated in 10,000 years or so thus creating life.

I will be meeting with friends and i would like to know how to PHONETICALLY say in french, "I've never had this/ tried this before". By "this" i mean a food item. I wanna try escarot (spelling?). So something like, "I've never tried escarot before" in french. If you can write it in french as well as phonetically write it out in english that would help alot! Thanks!

a) what is the domain? I said it was (x I x not equal to 4) am I right??

b) list the x- intercepts

My somewhat overweight female kitty, 2-3 years old, seems to not be using the litterbox--the last time was at least 8 hours ago.

We noticed that she seemed to be walking a little gingerly--staggering slightly--at one point this afternoon but she generally seems active, playing, etc. Doesn't seem tender that we can tell.

May be drinking a lot, perhaps not eating as much as she usually does. She eats diet dry kibble and a little wet food every day.

How long should we wait before making a vet appointment, and/or taking her to the emergency vet? Thanks.

the other night a friend and I were in Walmart at about 2AM killing time waiting for our friendto get off work. As we wre leaving the night manager yelled at us from across the parking lot to come back towards the enterance. I handed my bag to my friend because it had the car keys in it and told her to get in the car while I figured out what the lady wanted. I walked over to the lady and she told me to give her my bag. I asked her why, since no alarms had gone off, i don't shoplift. She screamed for security, at which point I finally I said , fine here you go, showed her what was in my bag and did not let her go through the items and she started yelling that my friend had dumped things out of it into the car when she took the bag with her to get my keys out of it. At which point another employee ran up to the car and started staring in all the windows.I want to know, what are my rights in a situation like that. Can a store demand to go through your things with virtualy no reason?

I am so fed up with young hollywood. I mean, you have Lindsay Lohan, a walking mess with drug accusations, alcohol problems, and crashing her car every 2 seconds, and Paris Hilton with her DWI charges and now jail time. And lets not forget Nicole Richie with her DUI charges and now having to go to court in two weeks where she also may face a harsh jail sentence. What's up with this? They embaress themselves and it is such a disgrace.
