Jimmyd has based an insult directed at me upon an assumption that he has turned into a conclusion. He must be well versed in the teachings of his god.

How is asking a simple question "knocking faith?" Why is there such hostility from the keepers of the faith? By the way, I have faith, faith that given an anonymous forum such as this the true nature of you all will shine through.

I've never seen any proof for the existence of a soul. It's not matter and it's not energy, so I doubt it exists. I don't mind being nonexistent. That's what I was before I was born. It's the dying part that's scary.

There are numerous testimonies of NDE (Near Death Experience), where the individual 'transcends' and meets god. There are the testimonies of past lives, where our consciousness apparently overlaps life after live.
Also there is a form of photography where you may photograph the 'essence' of life. The body leaves an imprint of energy when it leaves. The human brain is essentially a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum and since we know so little about the origin of energy, and that energy is usually indestructible, that it is fair to say that there may be supernatural consequences in a human death.
If there was true evidence of this... you would know, baby!

You won't find objective evidence on this topic. And no, you did not win the debate by default. What we are really talking about is faith. Either you have it, or you don't.
Now go high five yourself if you want to Potato Head, but don't make a habit of knocking someone's faith, it doesn't speak well of you.

It's funny nobody ask how your soul gets into your body, but people ask how you survive death. Where do you think your soul was before you were born? We were all made at one time and we have been in heaven for as long as God made us. Think about it. It is a forever never ending cycle. This here on earth is just a place to so call expereince. You have to look at the bigger picture.

There is no such thing as objective evidence of faith. It is always subjective...therefore can not be proven except by being experienced.

The brain is just a container for our thoughts. But what is in the essence of a heart is the soul which is spirit and lives on beyond this temporary state.

If you are referring to the Christian idea of the soul, I believe that consciousness is not retained (in the C. perspective) after death, and the only effect is some sort of hyperhappiness. Furthermore, memory is not retained, as marriages and the are absolute, so the idea of the sould is actually quite synonymous with the idea of a non-soul, excluding the fact that it has been given a supernatural dressing.
I could be wrong, of course.
And answering just your question and not your AD yields cremation. :p

I know objectively because matters that don't exhibit life careless what's gonna happen to them. Crush the rock, boil the water over to depletion, kick the ball as hard as you can - you know what, they won't complain, they won't evolve to protect themselves from unfavorable environmental challenges to survive. But living creatures, more than a clump of matter, reacts. If matters don't react who is surrounding that moving matter reacting?

You can't, and that's why it's called faith. You know this already yourself, it sounds to me as if you're asking a question with the purpose of just trying to show us your animosity to religions. Congratulations....you did it. Hope you feed plenty of worms!
Mr. Potatohead:
Well, well, well! Looks like I hit a nerve! Just the fact that you yourself say that I am "well versed in MY God" says enough. You ARE being sarcastic in approach! Why else would you defend yourself, besides you judged me wrong. I am NOT a strong Catholic.....just someone who sees underlaying motivation in words.I just love to point it out. Now, does that sound like the rest of these religious based responses?! Besides, I pointed out fact based from your question....I did not insult you.
