Ive had 2 babies both of which were very early. 2 months and 4 months early. I spent a lot of time in the hospital because of preeclampisa and other complications. The doctors told me another baby would kill me and the last one came close to it. So I had my tubes tied. Without this so called desecration of my body I wouldnt have a body. It would be in the ground being descrated by worms and decompostion. So I guess that should tell you my feelings on whether or not it should be illegal. And by the way I really wanted a 3rd child and because I was a responsible enough parent I wanted to be around to raise the 2 I already had.

I'll tell you what. You carry around babies for nine months. Not just once, but do it a couple of times at least. Ok. yeah.....then THEN come back and ask this question.
I've had mine tied. Burned. Frozen. Sent to Mars.
I have two children and honestly my body can not handle another pregnancy. My youngest really took a toll on me. So I decided " I " being the key word to focus on the kids I already have and get myself fixed for my OWN well being. My doctor tried to talk me out of it, but in the end it was MY choice. However, there are instances where even with being fixed the woman gets pregnant anyway. My husband and I talked about this and decided that if (if) that were to happen then we would be happy because it was ment to happen. But honestly I'm very happy about having it done and I don't have to worry about birth control pills (and lately you hear on the news about all these meds getting recalled) or getting shots and the like.
So yeah. Get pregnant. Go through all the stages. More than once. Then come back and ask this question again.

My first baby was 9 lbs. , the second was over 8 lbs. My obgyn recommended I not have any more kids. I got pregnant with my son anyway, my third c-section. The obgyn decided I should tie my tubes. (He was afraid I'd just ignore him again, I guess...)
Haven't had any babies since. And the freedom it lends to intimacy is incredible.
I guess guys shouldn't get vasectomies, either.
How you gonna feed all the babies?
Why can't we view medical technology as a gift from God? Advanced medicine improves the quality of life for the world.
And we need some kind of reliable birth control. With predictions for climate change and an inability to feed ourselves, why increase the population? Just so even more people can starve?

Sometimes there are medical problems that necessitate doing this. I had to have my own done for medical reasons and not to prevent pregnancies. In this situation, it would not be a desecration of a woman's body. At least, in my opinion, it would not be.

If a person is Catholic, then the belief is so.

I am Anglican, and believe that a woman must do what is needed. However, if she is getting her tubes tied so she can tramp around and not worry about being pregnant, then that should be illegal. But that woman wouldnt tell the truth.

It's her decision. Clearly you're one of the people that the feminists want to set on fire. I just love it when a MAN tries to say what is right and wrong for a WOMAN to do with her body.

Why is that you feel that women should not have a mind of their own and the freedom to make their own choices.....of course they should be able to get their tubes tied ...it is their body...their body no one Else's and no one Else's decision

No, I think all men should have a vasectomy when the couple decides not to have any more children.
Their recovery time is a couple of days as opposed to a couple of weeks for a female.

A woman should have total autonomy over any decisions affecting her own body.

I think it's fine. Don't see the big deal if she does. Nor do I see how it's a desecration.
