We'll will never know
Which road has been traveled more.
Which hallway,
Which door,
Has never been opened before.
We'll never see,
The scars that hide deep within
The thoughts,
The fears,
The visions created by sin.
If we could but hold,
the burning persistence of time,
and its unyielding march,
To and end without reason or rhyme,
We’d live in a world,
without walls,
without fear,
Under the light,
Of one blinding tear.
We’d live in a time without hatred or greed,
Above the blackest of nights,
inside all encompassing need.
Step up young man,
And place it all on the line.
Move forward my dear,
To a newly engineered crime.
Step up my sweet,
And give it all that you’ve got.
Walk away happy,
And embrace the pain you forgot.
