In the USA you must first graduate from college with a BS level degree. There are a lot of tough prerequisite courses before you can apply to medical college.

After your BS then you go to Medical College for four years and earn a MD degree. There are no specialties in Med school - all doctors study basically the same thing. Once you have your MD then you go into a residency for from 3 years to 7 years. After you had completed your residency for pediatrics, then you would need to start again to do a residency for surgery - or perhaps you would need to do it in the opposite order.... in any case there is no way you would get out of school with less than 11 -14 years of school after high school.

Only someone with 100% total dedication, excellent intelligence and persistence can complete this goal

Good luck!

It depend in part on what country you live and train in.

Pediatrics and pediatric surgery are very different in the USA. Typically, you need a 4 year undergraduate degree (bachelors degree), 4 years of medical school then a residency program.

For basic pediatrics, the residency is usually 3 years. If one sub-specializes it take 1 or more years of training beyond the first 3.

For pediatric surgery, you would do a minimum of 5 years in general surgery. However, because pediatric surgery is one of the most competitive programs, most people end up doing at least an additional year or two of research. The pediatric surgery fellowship generally takes 2 or 3 years for a grand total of 7 to 11 years of post-graduate training.

4 yr Medical, 2 yr Intern, another 4 yr as Surgeon college then specialize as Pediatrician. Total is about 10+ yr.

You could by pass it by buying your way to foreign country medical school, if you speak, read and write Spanish fluently.
3 yr Medical, 3 yr intern, another 4 year in Surgeon college while internship ( combine ). Tatal is about 7 yrs. The con: Will you be regconized and have to rewrite exams to qualify to practice in G8 nation, Russia excluded. The money your parent has to pay almost double if not more.
