A protest song should adress political problems of today, by pointing out what you see. Personaly, I dont believe there is as much reason for protest music nowadays as there was in the Vietnam era, mostly because todays music and music industry is run as a business, rather than something more meaningfull.

I dont know what your beliefs are, so I cant tell you what to write. You should focus on political problems facing your state, city, and especially this generation. The War would be a good topic, but a little cliche with all the music out nowadays.

good luck

OK. Look back at some of the protest songs from the 60's for inspiration. Thnik of something u disagree with. War in Iraq. High taxes. Homework. Y do U disagree with it? Eg:
"I don't like homework, I think it's a sin.
My mum makes me do it soon as I get in.
Don't I do enough work in school?
I 'd rather be out down by the pool.". This spur of the moment & a bit random, but I hope it helps.
