What are the characteristics of the "God of the Bible"? How is He different from the God of Islam, Buddhists, Hindus, Jain's, Zoroastrians, Aboriginal God(s), etc.? I thought every religion has a God that is all knowing, all powerful, creator and controller of the universe.

In days gone by the governmental power in the United States was divided between the States and the Federal government. But today the Federal government has grown to a point that it completly domniates the country as a whole. Today there is almost no difference from one state to another, and state governments have been reduced to little more than administrative divisions. What's the point of states anymore... given that there is practically no state soverigenty any longer, wouldn't it be more efficient to replace elected state government with appointed administrators from Washington? And isn't it about time we changed the name United States of America? That would imply that there is any autonomy of states... how about Americaland? Or how about the People's Republic of North America? What do you think?

We have the Coast Guard who guard our borders by sea.
Isn't it time for a United States Border Guard, designated to protect our borders by land? Trained like all other military.
Well-equipped. Current border patrol could easily opt in if they chose.

I want to build several small websites (1-2 pages) for a few domains. Is there any way to buy one hosting package and share it between many domains?

I have used yahoo (favorite!) and go daddy for hosting. It seems with them I have to buy a hosting package for each domain. Is there any way to get around this?

ps. I also realize that I could just forward these domain names to pages hosted with another website account - that is not the answer I am looking for. I want each domain to appear to be its own unique website (to the search engines as well!)

Thanks!

For example, if you created a financial website, and it gets 1,000 inbound links from Yahoo! Finance, will that increase the chances of your website appearing in a Google or Yahoo! search?

Yes, big question, but I really am looking for the UNIX equivalent of a Windows JScript that does the following (for example only, I realized I can't call a Microsoft application on UNIX)....

var objwd=new ActiveXObject("word.application");
objwd.visible=false;
objwd.Documents.open("blah");

...

Again, obviously the example above is a Windows-application specific example only. What I'm looking to do is merely emulate a similar concept except using Java (or Perl would be fine too, but I have so little knowledge of either). I want to create an object reference to a particular UNIX-installed application and then manipulate the object with the permissible methods associated with that object. I'm fairly familiar with the way to do this in Windows Scripting, but am quite new to UNIX and am trying to learn the various analygous scripting methods there. Any help (especially code samples) would be much appreciated.

Is it just me or are more and more people--especially girls--wearing crosses around their necks? It seems that the cross is a lot more popular than, say, 20 years ago. What do you think? Is the cross even making a comeback among men?

Yesterday, I had to run in the market to get some hot dog and hamburger rolls for my little cousins party. I was in a hurry so I stopped by one of the cashiers and asked them where they were located. And she said to me "I dont know. Why dont you just look at the signs like me and everyone else?" I turned around and walked right out the door. Should I have reported her?

Hebrews 12
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

I am! And I know with Christ I can endure! Do you believe this?
