I remember hearing a quote, I imagine from around the early 1900's, where somebody stated that humans would not be able to process information if they traveled above a certain velocity. I can't remember any other details, but I am curious if anyone out there knows the actual quote and who said it.

What would you think of a "bible Christian" who doesn't know Luke was not one of the first 12 apostles? I have a friend who likes to think he knows more than Catholics about Christianity because he claims to be a "bible believer" yet when I tested him with a naming of the apostles he couldn't and was so proudful that St. Luke was one of the 12 he only apologised to me after finding no gospel list in the NT which contained Luke.

BTW this man is a medical surgeon and prides himself on his educational background by I find he wants respect in fields of study he hasn't been trained for. I've come to understand there are more Catholics who are "bible Christians" than non-Catholics claiming to be.

I have a girlfriend of 2 years who just asked for break up. The reason due to me always making her cry. It makes me very sad everytime I know she cried, but sometimes, I just don't know I had caused that. In arguments, the more I explains the more heated the arguments become. I think we persecute each other based on the words that we have spoken. Each word is judged without giving each other the benefit of doubt. This is my first relationship and I am dissapointed it ended this way. Take this scenario. During a cool off period, she called me but refused to say things, and made me repeat myself many times before she will answer. I was sick and that made me tired and restless, so I told her if she has nothing to say, it will be better to go sleep early. She was angry and hung up on me. When I called back, she said she dun want to speak to me and even ask me to go die. I dun understand, she knows I was sick yet she dun ask a thing about me. Who is wrong? I am confused, and dissapointed.

Ok, so this girl and I have gone on a couple of great dates. There is definitely a vibe there and I personally am feeling pretty good about having something special with her.

Still, we are taking it slow and just letting things happen as they happen. We talk at least every couple of days and things just seem to be going really well.

She is leaving for a three-week vacation with her family. I definitely do not want to bother her, or contact her too much while she is trying to enjoy herself, one, for the obvious reasons like respecting her space and letting her enjoy her trip, but two because we are still in the early stages of whatever this might be, and I don't want to come on too strong...etc.

So, what is the right amount of time between calls? Every few days? If I call her, wait for her to make the next call? What do you guys/gals think is the proper amount of time for a situation like this?

I have a huge cardboard cut-out of Sammy Sosa when he was with the Cubs. I think it was a promotional thing w/Pepsi and it's in fairly cood condition. Some of the edges may be curled up slightly, if at all. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was worth anything? or where I could find out if it is? I was looking on ebay but can't find anything similiar to see how much it is going for. It's only a couple years old so I was just wondering if anyone would could either help or point me in the right direction. Thanks so much!

Everybody bashes Kobe when everybody knows Kobe has nobody to help him win games. Now the Spurs are making Lebron look like the next Harold Miner and everybody backs him up by stating he needs help. Come on people and admit that Lebron is WAY overhyped at this point in his young career. "KINGS" don't need supports last time I checked. I know he is young and will probably do a lot of great things in his career. People need to quit acting like he is gonna be the best ever if he cant even hit a 19 foot jumper on a consistent basis. Finally a good, western conference defense got a hold of him and he doesn't know how to dominate the game. Poor "KING."

I always want a boyfriend, but mainly I think I'm after sex. When I think about having a boyfriend the only thing I'm really looking for is sex. I hate randomly hooking up (most of the time) because I often feel used. And I have cheated on boyfriends before but it wasn't anything personal, I myself hate being cheated on but when I do it, it doesn't feel wrong because I have no connection with the person I'm cheating with. That doesnt make any sense. If you are innocent til prven guilty you shouldnt be put in jail until after the trial (thats if you are found to be guilty). So why are people (not in all cases) put in jail until the trial?

How is it in the over-sexed society that we live in, that we can turn on the T.V. ot look up while driving and see not only half naked but barely dressed women all over the place and that is concidered fine and normal. But a new mom can be arrested for something as natural as breastfeeding? When did this become indecent, it's not like I'm whipping it out in public, what's wrong with using a blanket to cover up? Why should I have to take my three week old son into the bathroom everytime he is hungry? Would you be happy eating your lunch or dinner in a public toilet?

I've been divorced for about 11 years now. My son lived with me for the first 5, then he went to live with his mom and her new husband and their 2 new kids. His mom and I do not have a good relationship at all. She has been telling me for a few years now that my son wants to change his last name so that he has the same name as his half bros. She also said that then I will not have to pay support. I feel she has done as much as she can to keep him from me and if I do this (which involves giving up my parental rights) I'll never get to see him or talk to him again. I love my son very much and want him in my life but don't know how to explain to my son so he will understand (he is 12 now). I feel his mother has manipulated him throughout the years into thinking that i'm not that important in his life and that it is no big deal to change the name. Also she makes him think that if I do this that we will still be able to visit and talk to each other.
