I was asking my co worker since we work in the employment field, what does an astronaut make, is going to space include danger pay, insurances, etc.

Yes, I would assume they get paid as governmental personnel...and would get benefits in case anything should happen.

here, I found a great website all about the carrer of being an astronat. They get payed 39,000 when they get started and can work up to a salary of around 80,000

They get paid the GSA pay codes or military equivalent. The latest tange was around $56,000 to around $105,000 depending on rank and experience.

Unless things have changed, they get paid at their pay grade which is either military or GSA and they do get flight pay during the space mission
