This was from Matthew 10:34. I have spent the entire afternoon reading the Gospels and have now gotten through all of them. I am utterly horrified by what I read. I always had this idea he was the prince of peace if you will. I now realize if you read what he states closely that he is angrier than God himself. In all four gospels he mentions cutting off body parts, cities and children being killed and only a small percentage of people getting to heaven. Who the hell am I to think I have a chance? In the book of revelation again it mentions only a small percentage of people will make it into heaven. Oh my heart grieves this will never do if I am to live another 30 years or so and have to live with this. Can someone restore my faith in this. What sword does Jesus speak of. I thought I would feel better reading this stuff.

we just got an airconditioner for the bedroom for the hot summer ahead. im wondering if its safe for cats. im afraid the drastic change from room to room might affect my cat or make him sick...is it ok or should i lock him out?

For instance, I would love to choose Switzerland as my country, for it represents my ideals. But wouldn't it be shameful to change ur nationality?

I just got invited last minute to a surprise birthday party at a restaurant for a friend that I don't know so well. I do know that she likes eating at this restaurant that we are invited to. Would it be cheesy if I got her a certificate from this restaurant or does it seem like I put no effort into thinking about her gift.
The thing is I just found out about it tonight and the party is tomorrow night.

Do you agree or disagree with his statement? We fought against the Nazis during WWII, and faced down Russia and their thousands of nuclear missles during the Cold War but now we are sooooo scared of a bunch of terrorists that we have to give up our liberties? Not me! I'd rather die in a terrorist attack than have my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up in a world of diminished liberty.

How does the War on Terror, the Patriot Act (which has given unprecedented invasive powers to the government) and the Military Commissions Act, (which has trashed the Bill of Rights) jive with Ben Franklin's statement?

Please don't ask me to verify my statements about these two laws... do some work and find out for yourself... our forefathers would expect us to be concerned, engaged, informed, patriotic Americans!

Why and how do people accept ideas?

This is our question of the day at school.. Can you please give me criterias of which you decide to accept or reject an idea?

For example, if your friend says that a certain store sells delicious noodle, will you accept or reject that?

Or, your friend says that he found a pre-historic lizard in his backyard, will you believe and accept that???

I am a psychology fellow (aka: soon to be licensed psychologist) in a private group practice. I do not earn a salary. The practice is reimbursed by the insurance companies for my services. Then the practice issues me a paycheck every other week. The amount of my paychecks varies from week to week but usually not more than a few hundred dollars. I receive a 1099 and pay estimated taxes quarterly. I pay my own malpractice insurance and have health insurance through my spouse. Most major business and office expenses are paid for by the practice.

I usually tell people that I am self-employed but I'm wondering if there is a more accurate term to describe my situation. Plus, lenders to give me hard time about it due to the unpredictable and inconsistent pay.
