we just got an airconditioner for the bedroom for the hot summer ahead. im wondering if its safe for cats. im afraid the drastic change from room to room might affect my cat or make him sick...is it ok or should i lock him out?

The airconditioner will not hurt the cat. If he feels cold he will bundle up in a ball or leave that area to get warm...He will be just fine though.... ^..^

I would assume your cat has enough sense to judge which room to go into.
Anyway, many indoor/outdoor cats make transitions much more drastic than this on a regular basis.

It has never hurt my cats. We do the same thing. They love to stay in the cool room but lay in the sun....LOL That's cats for ya!

I think it would be okay as long as he's not in the direct stream from the air conditioner...but I'd be careful nonetheless. My mom's chihuahua gets sore throats from the unit in my mom's bedroom if it's too cold. i would just let him/her do what they want and monitor them and see if it irritates them at all. I think it varies from animal to animal. Good Luck!

Your cat will pick a room it likes to be in, and that's that.
