A question from a left-handed guitar player...?

I'm not a guitar player yet, but after holding one, I found out I play the guitar left-handed (which is weird because I do everything else right-handed.) Where can I get a cheap ELECTRIC guitar for leftys?

ok, so it you are right-handed, and not a guitar player yet, what makes you think you should be attempting to learn left-handed? Id think twice about that before purchasing a lefty guitar. If you already have a reg. one, have someone at a music store re-string it for you left handed and work with it while before you decide. Yes, i know a few left handed muscians that, due to funds, learned on a reg. guitar strung upside down, so to speak.

I'm left-handed, & I've been playing guitar since the 60's. I play "right handed", I feel that it is better that way. Why? Well, when U start, Where do U need the most power ? left hand to press strings down & change chords quickly. Us lefties have an advantage. Yes, U can by lefty guitars, they're getting more common,but please think carefully. If UR just starting, try to play "right- handed". Hope this helps.

I've taught for years. I'm not saying that it can't be done, I'm just saying that its going to be a lot harder than it has to be. Guitar is not a strength issue. But most people initally feel the way that you do since they think that thier right hand has more dexterity and they think that guitar require a lot out of the fretting hand. But what you don't realize at this point is that the fretting hand is not nearly as critical as the picking hand. The right hand is the hand that drives the engine. Its the one making the sound, and though it feels awkward right now I assure you that its worth it.
