I hear her mouth on the radio say things like she will work toward more affordable insurance rates and lower gas prices, etc.

Liberal failures that you should have learned from...

Click It or ticket! They said that insurance companies would lower their rates if people were forced to wear seat belts. I am forced to wear my seat belt and my insurance goes up every year even with no tickets or accidents.

They said for years that having more fuel efficient vehicles will cause oil prices to fall. Well, we have more fuel efficient vehicles than ever and guess what?!

They say that stricter gun laws will dramatically decrease violent crime. D.C. has the strictest gun laws of any city in the U.S. ... and now has the most murders AND violent crime per capita of any city in the U.S.

Taking a Tinkle

A woman pregnant with triplets was walking down the street when a
masked robber ran out of a bank and shot her three times in the
stomach.
Luckily the babies were OK. The surgeon decided to leave the bullets in
because it was too risky to operate. She gave birth to two healthy
daughters and a healthy son.

All was fine for 16 years, and then one daughter walked into the room
in tears.

"What's wrong?" asked the mother. "I was taking a tinkle and this
bullet came out," replied the daughter.

The mother told her it was okay and explained what happened 16 years
ago.

About a week later the second daughter walked into the room in tears.
"Mom,
I was taking a tinkle and this bullet came out."

Again the mother told her not to worry and explained what happened 16
years ago.

A week later her son walked into the room in tears. "It's okay" said
the Mom, "I know what happened You were taking a tinkle and a bullet
came out."

"No," said the boy, "I was playing with myself and I shot the dog."

Has compassion for the fact that while they may not have agreed with Revrend Falwells belief system he was a human being and he died. It seems so sad to me how much callousness there is in this world. We as a people really are in trouble when we take cheap shots at a dead man who can no longer defend himself aren't we?

I am in 5th grade and i'm considered "gifted".But I don't want to be in gifted classes next year, it's too much stress.
I've gotten a's and b's all my life and never studied (it may not seem true but it is)
I just pay attention, that's all.
But my mom isn't convinced, i've told her all this but she still thinks i should be in gifted classes.

Any ideas how to convince her?

what was the premise and argument or proof that led to such an assumtion/conclusion.

not to insult anyone's work or carreer etc..
but I hardly believe scientists (or anyone) know why the universe exsists, or from whence it came other than an 'arbitrary' big bang concept etc...
infact, I hear of findings of many 'non local' anomalies as the study of science deepens, (as in quantum mechanics as only an example)

so how then should we go about casting such limits?

please tell me their grounds or basis for this.
