Why are there specific birthstones for each month? Who came up with the idea? Why?

Ok....im not sure how to explain this but please bare with me.


Ok. The toolbar on the bottom of the screen with the start button looks normal until you open a new window.

The little tab pops up on the toolbar but instead of being on the left, its on the right next to the clock..

And only 1 tab shows up at a time and a little arrow thing pops up and have to scroll through to find the tab you want to open or minimize....

Im so confused please let me know if i need to try and clarify......
