Well, first, not all protestant churches allow women to be pastors, though many do. Some literally do not allow women to speak at all, and some do not allow them to have votes or a say in church matters.

Many churches who allow women to be pastors treat Paul's letter as being specific to that church, in that situation and not as an edict for all Christian churches. Many churches, while allowing women to be pastors, do not allow them to be the head pastor (when there are more than one).

Paul was a product of his day and women were not held in high regard at that time. They were considered more as property, something to be owned, than as a person with rights and as a partner in a marriage.

I agree with the thinking that his letter was meant for that specific situation, and not for the Christian church as a whole. I personally wouldn't want to be part of a church that didn't allow it.

There are diverse motives do those verses. the 1st is that ladies individuals are actually not allowed to be pastors ever. the 2d is this would nicely be a command specially to the church Timothy replaced into ministering to. In those days it replaced into not perfect in the lifestyle for a women human beings to be a instructor. women human beings have been uneducated and the church replaced into the 1st time they have been "taught". to that end some say the ladies human beings have been so excited with their new-stumbled on freedom they went "overboard". in case you study by way of the recent testomony you will see many places the place women individuals are counseled for being workers in the church. rather Aquilla and his spouse Priscilla taught Appolos and have been counseled for this.

There are different explanations do these verses.

The first is that women are not allowed to be pastors ever.

The second is that this is a command specifically to the church Timothy was ministering to. In those days it was not acceptable in the culture for a women to be a teacher. Women were uneducated and the church was the first time they were "taught". Thus some say the women were so excited with their new-found freedom they went "overboard".

If you read through the new testament you will see many places where women are commended for being workers in the church. In fact Aquilla and his wife Priscilla taught Appolos and were commended for this.

Think, Women have always had a precious role in Gods plan. It was by women that Jesus came into the Earth. It was by women that Adam and Eve were able to have children. Think of all the many women in the Bible. Women have always had a sweet spirit about them. They have been given the power to bear children. Men have been given the preisthood, which is the power of God. Women, at that time were not allowed to speak in church because of the times. In this day and age it is widely accepted for women to be teachers, But I don't think that they should be pastures because they Can't hold the preishood, But can teach.

Oh cry my a river. I don't care if you give me bad ratings, I right you morons.

There are many Protestant churches which do not allow women to be elders or pastors. Some are listed on this database.

Well it means that some Protestant denominations decided to skip this scripture altogether or at least to put a different spin on the meaning to be able to move the goalposts, so what else is new? they have done this for 500yrs and ain`t gonna stop now.

Ministers are different from priests. Women can and have been ministers in the church for millennia.

obviously you are like a lot of people who take the Word of God out of context instead of leaving it whole and studying and believing all of it, instead of picking and choosing what you wish to believe or what you want to flaunt your own ignorance - and you are spreading yours fairly well.

That's why they're called PROTESTANT. They decided hundreds of years ago not to toe the dogma line.

I'm just a straight up atheist, so I couldn't care less, really.
