My son is 13 yrs old and still has some baby teeth. What's bothering me is that he has his second canine tooth that has come down without loosing his baby one first. It's been like that for months now and is completely through. Just recently its done the same on the other side only it's just showing. He says when he touches it with his tongue it hurts. I have booked him into the dentist. Do you think he will need braces? I'm not sure what to expect. I took him to the dentist when it first started to come through and was told to leave it and let nature take it's course the baby tooth will fall out. But it's not even loose now. Are they likely to remove the primary teeth?

This happened to me last Friday at Spiderman3. There were 3 lots of kids there who were 2 young to understand what the movie was about and there parents chased/chastised them throught the movie. Don't u think that there should be an age limit to how young the kids are? I know they have PG etc ratings, but should theatres stop this from happening or have a creche where the kids can go?

On here and on other religious discussion forums, where some of the religious, predominantly christian, severely incorrect perspectives on science and scientific conclusions are then corrected, do these people then take away this new knowledge and remain enlightened, or is there some form of denial or editing process where their incorrect assumptions are repeated elsewhere?

When an attack on science is based on incorrect assumptions, and is then clearly exposed as an incorrect assumption, how do these people then quantify their position on the matter?
Surely it must then change, and old incorrect assumptions are never to be repeated.
And if not, why not? And what is the mechanism that shuts the door on any enlightening information?

Fundamentalist claims about the superiority of Biblical values are usually based on the Ten Commandments. But if you examine those commandments closely, you will see that they are very disturbing.

I've got this question and i cant figure out my teacher's comments to my answer.

This is the question: "Radio-isotopes of different elements have different half-lives. Magnesium-27 has a half-life of 9.45 minutes. What is the decay constant for Magnesium-27? Round to five decimal places."

This is my answer: e^(-kt) = 0.5
e^(-9.45k) = 0.5
log(base e) e^(-9.45k) = log(base e) 0.5
-9.45k = -0.6931471806
k = (-0.6931471806) ÷ (-9.45)
k = 0.07335 (rounded to 5 decimal places)
Therefore, the decay constant for Magnesium-27 is 0.07335.

But my teacher said that the answer should be -0.07335...so i'm guessing that he's saying the decay constant formula should be e^kt = 0.5. I don't get this!! i can't understand it...can any1 help pleeeeeeeeeez???????
