On here and on other religious discussion forums, where some of the religious, predominantly christian, severely incorrect perspectives on science and scientific conclusions are then corrected, do these people then take away this new knowledge and remain enlightened, or is there some form of denial or editing process where their incorrect assumptions are repeated elsewhere?

When an attack on science is based on incorrect assumptions, and is then clearly exposed as an incorrect assumption, how do these people then quantify their position on the matter?
Surely it must then change, and old incorrect assumptions are never to be repeated.
And if not, why not? And what is the mechanism that shuts the door on any enlightening information?

"Jesus M", I wouldn't presume to challenge any person in their field of expertise, christian or otherwise, be they engineers or whatever. It's a pity you are incapable of the same courtesy towards experts in their various scientific fields.

I have only suggested that clarifications are ignored, not that there is an intellectual issue. It is however an issue of ignorance..!

"AlliwantlSAfrica", there are no mainstream scientific efforts to disprove the existance of god, period!!
Your incorrect assumption is yet another example of the misinformation and ignorance I refered to.

No one has directly addressed this question, and is therefore indirect evidence of the denial and selective hearing I refered to.

You know , its not you alone have gone on studies about science and religious matters. In the Christian sector there are many professionals, like Lawyers, Doctors, Engineers and many others belong to the wise men with multi purpose education on things surrounding the world and you can not say that you are the best or most talented person on earth living. There are many more Christians with high intellect caliber than you are, I think. The knowledge you have earned about science is not enough to convince high intellect Christians. I believe Christians has more knowledge about science than you are.

Usually, such questions are followed by examples that better explain the point you're trying to make. Some things are self-explanatory, but without at least one example of the infraction you are trying to illustrate, you're no further ahead at the end than you are at the beginning. But I will press on, regardless.
Whether it's science or any other academic field, if someone draws an incorrect conclusion about some aspect of that field and, upon being informed of said violation, refuse to accept the correction and modify their errant understanding and perpetuate the incorrect assumption, they should never pose another question about that field that should be taken seriously. They are, among other things, intellectually bankrupt and willfully ignorant. Let them be.
The person who allows themselves to take correction by recognizing their errant assumption is a person who is reachable and teachable. That is the person who could've gone the way of the first person, but deliberately chose not to deceive or delude themselves by ascribing to a known falsehood. They are primed for what you call "enlightenment". I call it "humility" of the highest order.

Neither side of the "God" debate can be proven. The scientific side continues on looking for scientific sound proof that God doesn't exist and believers in God continue to rely on faith. I believe debates on this subject are meaningless. Faith, which means a belief that is not based on material proof, will forever and always be the main component of belief in God.

geesh idiot, you cannot correct a believer because God is not in words on a computer screen or formulas in math, or theories about how living organisms formed from non-living elements or compounds, he is found in daily life

A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

This is true of you as well as them.
