Let him know that you care to listen to him/her, then you can do the same... by showing respect, then respect will be granted you. ;-)

From my personal experience, the answer to that is that you CANNOT handle anyone who refuses to consider things from another point of view. Some people just refuse to admit they are ever wrong. They blame others for their problems and think that everyone else is seeing things incorrectly, not them. You can't change such a stubborn mindset. Once the person is proved wrong time after time, they'll know they are wrong, but probably won't ever admit it to you anyway. So just roll your eyes to yourself; this person just isn't capable of this right now.

Not Knowing the specific "Things" I would say first of all perhaps the problem lies not with the other person. For example : If you were to try to get me to consider the posibility that 2+2= 5 , I would refuse.
On the other hand, perhaps you might accept the other person in spite of the fact that they are narrow minded. You cant change other people but you can change your outlook on others>

First, you don't handle someone. Just as you have a right to your opinion, so do they and if they won't heed your advice, all you can do is let it go and hope they learn from their mistakes. I have a friend like you mentioned and no matter what others tell her, she's thought of it or she has already tried it so at that point, I back off because she is no longer receptive to anything I have to say. Remember respect goes two ways and it is something we earn so treat others with respect and hope they will do the same with you :)

Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree about certain topics. There are some things that people will not budge an inch on and in that case, if you want your friendship to last, agree to disagree on that subject and move on.

I know where you are coming from. All I can say is to just not ask that person anymore because they are not worth the frustration on your part.

You cant bestow ideas upon a narrow minded individual. There is no reasoning with ignorance.
